A few years ago, I was going to Italy but I couldn't find a direct flight from Montreal so I had to do Montreal to Frankfurt, then Frankfurt to Munich, and finally Munich to Pisa.

Anyway, when I got on board the Frankfurt to Munich flight the flight attendants were like "gut morgen gut morgen gut morgen" to everyone who was climbing aboard. Just to be polite, I mumbled "gut morgen" back.

Anyway, so as I'm sitting, the flight attendant is passing snacks around and when it comes to me she asks me in german which snack I want. I kind of look puzzled and I was like "uhh... english?" and then she asked me in english.

It's funny how people just assume I'm german.

And as she was passing stuff around all I could hear was a broken record of "danke bitte danke bitte danke bitte danke bitte" over and over again

Well in Belgium and France, Tintin is basically their equivalent of Mickey Mouse. Perhaps the most recognizable fictional character in existence for them.
