the only decent character you get from a gaiden is Athena, from the first one. and really the only thing she has over Navarre is the ability to promote to Falcon Knight, which isn't even possible without cheat codes anymore (since they shut down the online shop).

oh and i guess Nagi but you don't have to kill off a bunch of characters for her.

also VG results: was overall 650th-ish when the last hour started, but lost top 1k to Lyon people (wasn't even all that close in the end, around 1500th). no victory feathers ever.
2500 for top 1k Marth round 1
2500 for top 1k Sigurd round 2
3100 for top 5k Hardin round 3
2600 for top 5k overall
10.7k total feathers, which i guess is not bad for never picking the winner

i waited until the 8-draw to see if i'd get anything better, then by that point i had like 40 magicites to do in 10 days so i kinda held off on most stuff until i was done with that.

Yeah, I haven't bothered with any of the difficulty levels that only give gil as a reward... just not worth the frustration.

what about apoc++ CMs? i did the FF4 one at least. Rosa's USB isn't ideal for a physical only fight but it was good enough with godwall. had just enough offense with 3 BSBs and Edward dual attack buff support to kill within the 2 wall casts.

I tried him a few times. I read damage reflection is a solid way to cheese him but I guess it has to be elemental with a chain or something cause I used Curillia's damage reflect ultra which is non elemental and it was slow as hell to whittle him down.

the only clear i've heard of like that was with 4 last stand healers as the other 4 characters, 3 of which were instant. and it took like an hour.

Kind of surprised no one seems to be drawing on FFVIII, especially since Squall USB and Laguna Chain are nice relics. I guess we're all out of mythril.

i'm not surprised at all, considering the next VIII event isn't far away and its banner 1 is a strict upgrade

now i might have thought about banner 2 this event if i had any mythril. Laguna's USB is his best relic for the torment, and Rinoa's USB1 might be better than her brave USB, and is an ice boosting magic weapon at least (i don't know if her brave is). i also still don't have a single instant last stand, though Selphie's USB2 is probably better for the torment.

based on the number of people on each team, Lyon had way less than a 1/3 chance of winning. but he had smarter supporters so it upped his odds.

damn i thought Sigurd had it. Hardin needed a 7.5 much stronger than his 7.3 and he got it.

got another top 1000 rank, at least. though i'm gonna drop to like, top 10k at best for the third round with only 410 extra flags.

All units are arena viable with +10 and the right build tbh.

especially a horse mage with decent spd and atk. there's very little she wouldn't one-round as a +10 with blarblade and horse buffs.

yeah. i really should have stopped after the first gem pull, with Ashe AOSB+LMR. i might have even felt good if i had stopped there, or at least less bad.

i mean it'll be nice only having to chase Tifa in one future banner instead of two, and having a second earth glove for Galuf or Yuffie, but not $120 nice.

welp. after 3 years they finally caught me on the hook and reeled me in. got nothing again with my last mythril and did some gem pulls. and by some i mean 5x11. i got both AOSBs, Ashe's LMR, Tifa's glint and a bunch of dupes. no chain, no Tifa USB, not even Tifa LMR or Maria BSB. at least i have an 8* lightning boost sword for Ashe i guess?

i'm not even mad, but i do feel kinda gross. like i'm some animal and not a person for falling for that.
