Part of the problem is, is prison staff who treat prisoners as sub human or not human at all.

like a prison ain't gotta be a Holiday Inn in order for small accommodations to be made for the safety of its population

But this is a matter of written protocol. Threats of violence against other inmates made known to staff must be addressed because of the potential liability, which they are about to get a lesson in.

Prisons have a complex classification division to make sure things are as organized and safe as possible (so no Crips and Bloods in the same cell, that sort of thing). Homophobia is an area that is noted by the system.

I was nowhere near financially secure in most of my 20s. Things didn't start to fall together until like 29. I cant go back to worrying about how i was going to pay for things. That was an awful life.

The only reason I am now is because of my mothers inheritance.

If I didnt have that Id still be losing huge chunks of my money to student loan debt (while STILL having the hour long drive to and from work that I have now).

Youre right about when things fell into place, though. I didnt land a career-worthy job until I was 29.

Being told to cuff up is a lawful order so that is something that you can be taken to the ground for. The initial complaint was disorderly and hindering so those are detainable offenses.

Police procedure does actually permit striking a suspect for being combative or attempting to reach for an officers weapon but hitting someone in the face is pretty off-limits unless theyre out-and-out trying to brawl (which would just be a matter of self-defense, not arrest tactic).
