The problem is, is that this specific part of NJ has a history of problems with alcohol and drugs on the beaches. It's a very family orientated beach town with amusements parks, carnivals and boardwalk attractions. If the town let's shut like this go constantly it hurts their image and their economy. There are constantly fights and problems with adults and underage kids. So they are enforcing a zero tolerance rule against alcohol on the beaches.
