I think they're deliberately fucking with the image of the T.rex.

They want it to be more like some sort of majestic emu than a deadly carnivore. I don't believe for a second that tyrannosaurus looked anything remotely similar to that and that's even granting the possibility that it might've had feathers.

I love how "T.rex had lips on the side of its mouth" equates to "T.rex's mouth was a giant set of side lips with a couple of teeth in the middle." Come on, reptiles in the modern world don't big mammalian lips which encompass 60% of their mouths. Nor do birds.

It's stupid, but the ideas in play are so bad I'm half-convinced they're trying to get the show cancelled. Maybe TMNT isn't wacky happy funtime enough for Nickelodeon. Maybe there are some licensing issues that they don't want to pay for. But yeah, there's just no way you create a show this bad by accident.

Still, I don't want the Turtles going the way of X-Men. It's one thing for a supporting character to become the most popular. It's another to push everyone aside to make that character the star.

That's because she was a free spirit in a confining society. Only the Beast saw her and respected her for who she was.

Mary Jane was never considered book smart.

She's known more for her intelligence than her beauty though. That's the point. You can be beautiful and have value as a person beyond your looks.

Mary Jane doesn't have to be a bookworm. She can have other strengths. If there's nothing to draw from in the comics, they can invent attributes for her. Maybe she's good at chemistry. Maybe she uses her modeling to help pay for college.

The possibilities are endless. But "Mary Jane Watson" doesn't have to mean "helpless damsel in distress that guys want to fuck." She can be more than that. And she doesn't have to lose her beauty in the process. They don't have to take a naturally beautiful person like Zendaya and mute her looks.

btw, ever see that film Beauty and the Beast? I think it might've been made by the same company that produced Spider-Man: Home Coming. That big distribution company with the mouse ears.

The Spanish version fixes the ending (sorta) and provides overall better acting and direction. But it also butchers my favorite scene, the confrontation between Dracula and Van Helsing, and there's just no comparison for the performances of Bela Lugosi, Dwight Frye, and Edward Van Sloan.

Average? It was largely considered one of the best Kong movies ever made.

Aside from the first film, King Kong had a far worse career than Godzilla. It's not that hard to win the title of "one of the best Kong movies" when this is what you're up against:

The first time I fell asleep, I was watching the trailer for the next Jurassic World movie. It featured the mosaurus ripping apart the neck of an elasmosaurus with a greater amount of blood than what would realistically be allowed in a trailer.

After getting up to go the bathroom, I went back to sleep and dreamt that I was charged with protecting an infant from velociraptors. The infant was in a basket in a kitchen and under doctor's orders not to be moved. I had a cattle prod to deter raptors with. (In the dream world, they were more like scavengers that would likely flee at the sight of an adult and could most certainly be repelled with electricity.) After having enough of the undo stress in which the raptors could potentially attack from one of three angles (back door, hallway door, and laundry room door), I walked up to Steven Spielberg and sternly said, "I'm moving the baby." After which, I took the baby to a bedroom where I only had to guard the one door against raptors.

I'm not sure if seafood causes weird dreams or not, but I split a lobster dish for dinner.

I never liked that version.

I am mildly annoyed at the politics in play, but I'm not sorry to see Stewart or Lee's name removed from a school.

Nobody is going to be voting for Barack Obama from here on out because he can't run for president any more. Also, it's not like putting up propaganda posters at all. There are plenty of schools named after confederate leaders, my high school included, and there was no propaganda put up around the school about him.

It's not like it'll inherently shape the way that they vote, but it seems a bit unfair to force children to attend a school named after who you think they should vote for. It's almost like putting up propaganda posters stating "He Loves You" in every classroom.

Jeb Stewart kept slaves, so I can certainly see why a predominantly black school would want to change its name. The debate over whether or not to name schools after Confederates would still be there regardless of the ethnic makeup of the school, but the fact that it's a predominantly black school makes the decision easy. Kick Jeb out.

But to name it after Obama is blatant politicking. Come to think of it, there should be a law enacted making it illegal to name a school after a politician who has been active within the past 25 years. It just seems like an unfair leg up and it forces kids to adhere to your politics whether they want to or not.

As a child, Aladdin was my favorite.
As an adult, I prefer The Lion King.

Aladdin was the first movie I ever saw twice in a theater and the image of the Cave of Wonders up on that big screen still gives me chills. But as fun as the movie is, there's really no comparison. The Lion King is a masterpiece in terms of both visual presentation and its narration. It feels like a finely crafted stage play.

Aladdin is half an hour of Arabian fantasy-adventure followed by Robin Williams sketch comedy. It's easy to revisit, but I'd say it's closer in quality to something like Disney's Robin Hood than The Lion King or The Little Mermaid.

The first one. No contest.

The tyrannosaurus's attack on the jeep is the best action sequence in the series by far and it's the only movie to really give the audience a fleshed out picture of what its characters are like. Fallen Kingdom had greater characterization than any of the other sequels, but none of them quite had the same heart as the original.

To be fair, it is a common quote for Southern and Midwest individuals. I used the term "sold down the river" for years before realizing it was an allusion to slavery.

That said, Trump and his crew are pretty scummy.
