So I graduate college a year from now, and I'm wondering if I should attend the graduation ceremony or not. On one hand, I have absolutely no friends whatsoever to congratulate me after the ceremony, it would cost me more money than I think the ceremony's actually worth, and it would really seem like a hassle to make my family drive up to the graduation site just to watch me walk, chat with me for a few minutes, and then go home with me. On the other hand, I graduate college only once... Or rather, it'll be a long, long time before I graduate college a second time, and everyone I know will have probably moved on and not even have the time to visit me at that graduation ceremony. So this is like the only opportunity I have to walk as a graduating college student, with my family--the only people who genuinely care for me--supporting me and such. My question is: Should I participate in the graduation ceremony next spring, or no, would it be a waste of everyone's time and money?

In the second-to-last episode of Friends, Rachel is saying her goodbyes to every one of her friends individually. After she says her goodbye to Joey, he tries to jump off the building and commit suicide. All the while, a laugh-track is playing, and I'm here going, "What the hell? This isn't funny. Suicide isn't a laughing matter, and such." My question to you is, do you think that was "legitimate" or "acceptable" for the writers to put an attempted suicide scene in the second-to-last episode of Friends? I mean, it's always been a little edgy with its jokes and humor, but do you think this was acceptable to put on TV and later DVD?

Too many things... For example, today, for some reason my mind keeps replaying this really unpleasant memory about an online experience that I remembered only today on some other site. This memory just gave me lots of anxiety and made me just want to crawl into bed and keep thinking about it until I get used to it. Because I couldn't really concentrate on anything today reliving this experience that I really don't want to talk about... I couldn't even focus on reading through my financial mathematics textbook intended for study by actuaries. Then, while reading that textbook, I felt nervous because I couldn't understand much of what I'd been reading the first time... But I realized then, that during my regular school year, I normally don't comprehend the contents of a textbook the first time I read (skim) through it. It's only through a re-read, that I can finally pay attention to what I'm reading. That's just normal, for me. But I got bored reading halfway through my re-read, then I got worried about my post-college life because if I'm not studying for practice, then I will likely not study when I'm actually going to study for the tests I'm going to be taking. But I just got fatigued thinking about it, and I'm feeling fatigued and sad in general recently, so I ended up watching more television. That was like four hours ago, and I'm still watching television; I'm worried I'm going to end up like that ICOYAR bloke once I graduate if I continue these bad study habits. I mean, if this was a regular week, I would have been at work. But no, yesterday was a holiday for federal workers in this state, so I had the day off. But then I don't have to go to work on Tuesdays, either. So I ended up having little to do since Friday of last week. In short, I hate it when my vacations are too long because I have more idle time to think about the past, how people before used to bother me so often, and it just affects my concentration to do important stuff in the present-day, like study for tests I won't be taking for at least another year. Anyway, this is what's going on in my head, TC.

I didn't like how How I Met Your Mother ended. I mean, I've only watched fifteen or so episodes, but it is still grating how the writers had Barney and Robin marry each other, only to break up a year later, just so Ted can be with her. On second thought, that's fine, except that I felt that the execution of it was very poor. They dedicate an entire episode towards their wedding, and I am willing to bet two of my American dollars that they had build-up towards it. Then the writers destroy that by having the couple break up. We go through a flashback montage where Barney has a kid, Robin goes traveling, and that other couple has more kids. Then we have Ted propose to that Tracy girl and eventually have that wedding. Sometime after, the Tracy girl falls ill and dies after having two of Ted's kids. Then we flashback to right back after Barney's wedding, where we learn how Ted meets the mother of their kids. So he's done telling the story, and all of a sudden, it turns out that the story is all about how he wants to get with Robin who is conveniently single (as is Ted, because his wife died six years prior), as his kids point out. I mean, I like surprises, but this just came out of the blue with no suspense-building whatsoever, and I just feel like I didn't like how the show ended. I am dissatisfied, as a result.
