Just found out they made a Woody Woodpecker movie recently, but it was trash. It basically makes every mistake a bad adaptation can, like excess grossout humor and making the main character second banana to some humans you don't give a shit about.

I like the non-scummy parts of modern gaming. I remember having my mind blown at the amazing stuff coming out back in 2007 and was eagerly looking forward to the future.

Ten years later, after many ups and downs, I finally learned a valuable lesson after Visceral Games got shut down: If you find a fun, unique, creative game, love it with everything you've got because you'll never see anything like it again.

Got somewhere to be, so I'm up early.

Got a real bitch of a headache last night from doing Binding of Isaac victory laps (the closest it has to NG+). They weren't difficult, just time-consuming, and its visuals could cause eye strain. Only did them for the unlocks.

The headache was so awful, I couldn't sleep, so I had to take some aspirin, which I only do for the worst/most persistent headaches.

If it's any comfort, multiple legislators are investigating loot boxes as gambling, so they could start getting regulated as early as next year.

Meanwhile, the ESRB has added a "in-game purchases" label to its list of content descriptors, but it's a real half-assed one, since it can be applied to both games with microtransactions and games that just have one or two pieces additional of story content.

Yeah, loot boxes or anything similar is basically a slot machine. And putting them in products aimed at kids is especially heinous.
