The LMRs are basically useless without the SBs. I do like Beatrix at least but I don't see much use coming from the BSB at this stage. Not going to waste any more mythril on this one since I'm more interested in 2 and 5.

I know it's a trap banner, but I'm actually really tempted by the 2nd Dissidia banner. Vaan USB and Shantotto USB are two of the items I want the most. The type 0 stuff is garbage but Luneth is pretty decent as well, and I the LMRs are decent.

People were theorizing only the guaranteed one had infuse but it's looking like all the relics drawn from it do?

Which, not important here but may influence whether I draw on the OSB banner and makes me more hyped for the USB banner

For whatever reason it sounds like the first banner was all infuse relics (in Japan) but the other two were like you describe.

I definitely won't draw on the OSB banner... even if it is OSB only, 2 or 3 random OSBs still isn't worth 25 mythril.

I don't really care about the changes to b1, the only removed thing I would have liked is Celes BSB2, but Beatrix BSB2 is nice.

B2 removing Chicken Knife really sucks, I was looking forward to finally getting it. At least they kept the Terra stuff and it's still the only banner where I don't have a dupe among the 6*.

B5 is very slightly worse (Maria and Relm BSBs are both dupes), but eh.

Shadow SSB. I would have been really happy with his LMR or USB, or a bunch of other things on this banner. Kinda frustrated with ROP overall even though the value is decent for the cost.

That's the first one. Freewheeling Gauntlet is the super strong one. That one is more of a utility break-- one I kinda wish I had for non-water bosses but not something that makes her a carry on its own.

To be fair, being a ninja alone basically makes her viable. An instant cast 8 water hits + 40% heal is just gravy.

Edit: yeah, OK can do a good job at chain building... but he can also be a good entruster which frees up a 3rd DPS slot.

If this is her 2nd USB she should be an auto-include. If it's her first one she's still a good option... you definitely want a ninja and OK has to use Mako Might so he can't carry the 40% ninja damage RM.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Ramza is my main man and his LMR is extremely good. But Quina's trance+USB makes her an amazing buffer/entruster. At a minimum she's going to be super useful in Crystal Tower and future IX torment.

IMO Barthandelus is just bland and boring. I don't like him but I don't hate him either.

Can't comment on Vayne because I didn't finish XII (I think I played about 15 hours). I just got Zodiac Age and started playing so maybe I'll finish this time (high speed mode should help a lot with the issues I had the first time).

Ew, Seymour. In general I don't like villains but Seymour is especially disgusting. My ideal darkness squad is Shadow and TG Cid, with Garland or Golbez as the less-objectionable chainers.

I dunno, I really like a bunch of the upcoming banners.

If you don't have any dupes then Fest 1 blows this banner away in power level. Just comparing the top prizes: TGC USB is roughly comparable to DK Cecil's USB, Tyro's wall is better than P Cecil's, Gen 2 chains are better than AOSBs, and then fest also has a fifth 6* with Elarra's USB while this banner has nothing that compares.

The other fest banners look good too, then I'm looking ahead to Zidane's USB2 and the V banner with Galuf's Earth chain 150, and Bartz's AOSB and USB2.

But then the whole game is about nostalgia so if you Cecil is your favorite, nothing else can really match that.

It really makes it a lot harder to choose by putting this before the fest. Most of the ones I want to grab are on a fest banner: Tidus's BSB2, Terra's BSB2 (+fire armlet), and Garnet's BSB2 (+lightning staff). Do I just grab my top pick or go for something a little safer like Lulu's +Ice armor?

1/3 - Reks BSB. It's a variant of Onion Knight BSB so seems useful for Torments.

On the 500 gem draw:

3/11 - Thief SSB, Lenna LMR, Irvine SSB (dupe). Not sure what I'll select yet - I was planning to take Terra's BSB2 if I didn't get it in the fest, but now I have to choose before fest arrives. :(

Like I feel like I have a lot of really good stuff on this game and I dont feel like I'm a match for these 4* magicite and you are adding fights that are harder than that? There has to be an extremely small percentage of players that this will be useful for.

The thing is, you don't need to beat these right away, since they don't disappear. They have to have something that's a challenge for the long time players and big spenders otherwise those people will get bored and stop spending. This is pretty much the most generous possible way they can do that, where (a) the stuff sticks around so you don't miss anything if you can't beat it yet, (b) has three difficulty levels so you may be able to do the easier one, and (c) even gives rewards just for getting the boss to 50% HP.

Personally I'm really looking forward to the new Torments since I've already farmed all the magicites.

I've been thinking about Celes's USB and it seems really underhyped for some reason. Orlandu's USB was super hyped, but that one only provides good coverage in 3 elements - Celes's is almost the same thing with coverage in 6 elements. I'm super glad I got both of them, hope I can get Vivi's soon too.

Is there any reason at all to keep Burning Rush when I already have Fires Within? Same question for Freezing Moon/Warring Frost when I have Hailstorm. In both cases it seems like one ability for the same element and school is just plain better. But especially for Monk where Fires Within has no downside I can see (it's ranged, heals, and has a higher multiplier even factoring in Burning Rush's crit bonus)

Yeah, that was me. It's cool he's finally getting some new stuff. The best part is it looks like his LMR comes back around (unless it's a new one) and his OSB should be obsolete so I didn't really miss anything by not taking them in the dream selection.

I haven't seen a list yet but I think there's basically like 4 relics on the banner that would help me at all (Minwu USB, Relm USB, Aphmau USB, and Larsa USB) and two of those are basically superseded by Elarra's if I manage to get it. I'm going to try to save my mythril.

Yeah, it's a good banner but it's close to fest and I don't really need more holy because there are SO many holy knights in the game. But if you're a Cecil fan go nuts, that's a big part of what makes the game fun.
