Take the top 200 or so songs that didn't make the cut and rank them according to number of nominations received, then have one match a day: the #200 song would go up against the #199 song, the winner of that would go up against the #198 song, and so on and so forth. Songs that went on a long gauntlet streak might gain some attention prior to the next year's nomination rounds, it'd give a lot of songs a chance to have at least one match, and it would keep up the VGMC goodness going for a lot longer. Would people get burned out if it was just one match a day? Obviously people wouldn't have to vote every single day, matches with low votals could be fine for this since it's just for fun. Might be an interesting way to give exposure to some obscure songs too.

Since we usually have a side bracket with 64 entries, one of the ideas we were discussion was an auto-include bracket. Everyone who nominated songs would be able to choose one (or two, depending on space) of their nominations to automatically get into this bracket. Would be a cool way for people to get in those songs that never seem to get quite enough support, and it'd give everyone an equal investment in the contest.

Did anyone watch the Saiki anime? Is it as funny as the manga?

I haven't read the manga, but the anime was great. Really fast-paced too, so it's not one of those slow adaptations.

The PC version has turbo mode now, right? Felt like that was a big improvement for Cold Steel over the previous Trails games when I played it. Must be nice for Sky too.

The lack of Xenoblade 2 songs in the nomination phase puzzled me most. X and the original Xenoblade both got way more support than this, and it feels like in general, people like 2's soundtrack the best of the three? I dunno. Pretty disappointed the only song from the game that got in was some generic JRPG vocal song. Feels like Eyes on Me getting in over The Extreme or something.

also listening again just now the instrumental version of that song is way better and plays in the best moment in the game whyyy

I just don't think I can say there's any one level that I thought was especially interesting. what's your favourite Mario World level? is there one part that's just like 'yep, that's the greatest thing ever.'

I feel like that's what people like about SMW? Every single level is fantastic. It's not a game with a few standout levels you remember and a bunch you forget.

dammit I read way too much ReLIFE last night and didn't get enough sleep

I didn't realize the chapters would be so short! Most of them are like 8 pages, while the longer ones are 10. So far it seems extremely similar to the anime? Some things are even better in the anime I think, like Chizuru's smiles are even more impressive when animated. Also, Chizuru being a ReLIFEr seems even more obvious here than it was in the anime. I don't think I became totally certain of it until An's job was revealed in the anime, though I was definitely suspicious. Regardless, it's all good stuff. Regardless, this is all great stuff so far, just like it was in the anime. Unfortunately my least favorite arc is next I think (the one with the volleyball club captain), so maybe I'll have to hope that's executed better in the manga.

Would be a bit surprised at people calling Loewe a top tier character based solely on Trails FC! (I actually don't think his characterization there jives that well with his characterization in SC? Kinda similar to Agate in that respect. Both of them kinda felt like they were written by different people)

If anything I'm surprised that many people are good with subs! There aren't that many more people who prefer dubs, and the huge majority is fine with either subs or dubs!

I remember some 1-seeded Sonic songs getting "upset" by 16-seeds.

I don't think Douse Shinundakara or Scrum Debate will do particularly well in the contest despite currently being the most nominated songs, but I guess we'll see.

I think I remember Episode II more fondly than most because I actually liked the concept of the battle system, with knocking enemies up into the air or driving them into the ground for extra damage and stuff like that. I was kinda happy when FFXIII used a similar concept!

Xenoblade actually does the same thing, incidentally.
