When the contract started, the pay was $12/hr, it is now $12.95. So in a decade, they've given less than a dollar. The court pays my company 120k a year for two guards. Our company barely pays us 30k. This was the first armed site in my area, which is why I think the rate is so low. There are now multiple armed sites that are paying $15. Hell, there are even unarmed sites making $14.50. Our contract renews every May, so I'm trying to bring it up beforehand. I'm never late, I've called off one time in the FIVE YEARS I've been here. Not gonna ask for anything crazy, just what's to get paid what the other armed site should are. Any tips? Email? Call? If I want to talk face-to-face, I have to take a personal day. --- |
