This explanation really just doesn't fly tbh. He can teleport with the space stone, it shouldn't have made any difference. The only real answer is that it was convenient for the plot, and that really should never be done in fiction if the intent is to maintain suspension of disbelief. DBZ is very notorious for breaking that constantly throughout the series and is one of the harshest criticisms of the entire series.

The movie never showed him having instant transmission.



Right after he banters with Iron Man, a giant thing falls at him. Then spiderman goos his eyes.

His mind is quite distracted which makes it hard to use the op powers of the stone. Furthermore, your argument is that like Goku he could tp as soon as the giant metal thing was dropped. But when you waking up thinking this, you are obviously going to be scared in every scenario during that day when you stop someone.
