Hmmm... I'm not really sure how to feel about Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

I gave it a try last night and, at first, I thought everything was great!

The graphics were clean and colorful, and the mechanic where you use the WiiU screen as a phone was pretty neat.

But then the battles came in... and all these characters were saying lines... BUT THERE WERE NO SUBS!

It's pretty frustrating not knowing what these characters are saying, especially if you have a little bit of knowledge on japanese words.

It's almost as if I wish I have absolute zero knowledge of japanese words because at least then I can ignore it, instead of making futile guesses at what they're saying based on one or two words I might recognize.

ROSE IS PINK DIAMOND CONFIRMED! FOR REAL THIS TIME!



I mean, it was pretty obvious from the start, but the show did make it really seem like it wasn't the case initially.

I really like how they revealed it though. I watched the episode thinking it was gonna be a sort of minor episode dealing with Pearl's repressed memories, which it sorta was, but I never expected to get one of the biggest reveals of the series yet.

Anybody else watched the special event? What are your thoughts?

So I gave up on Patapon 3. Too much grinding and the changes didn't really sit well with me.

Now I'm starting on Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time.

At the point where I choose my familiar, and I can't decide! They're all pretty cute. Help me pick one out!

Hmm... I'm not really sure what to feel about Patapon 3's changed system.

In the first two games, you build a whole army of three squadrons with up to 6 patapons in each.

Now, you only fight using 4 "hero" patapons.

Also, they got rid of the Rarepon system where you can customize each and every patapon to be a unique unit, and replaced it with a straight leveling and class/job switch system.

However, weapons are a lot more effective now. Instead of using mats to change patapons, you use it to level up weapons.

All those things I can get used to and eventually learn to have fun with though. The biggest change I'm not really liking is the increased focus on multiplayer, and having entire sections of the game blocked off, and content locked behind the multiplayer.

I realize I'm a lot late for the party though, and maybe the multiplayer wouldn't be so bad in my eyes if I had a proper psp and actual people to play with.

There's just something intensely satisfying about landing a perfect combo on beat and watching your army of cute little eyeball monsters completely decimate the enemies.

I have the 3DS one as well, but If I had a Switch, I'd get one for it too. Though keep in mind, I didn't get all the DLC for that, so there is some incentive for me to get the definitive version.

Warriors games were really meant to be played on a big screen, plus, and this is a minor thing, I really wished they included the special weapon finishers/focus attacks in the 3DS version, instead of just the boring generic "magic blast" attack they use.

So being able to see all that in HD, with the option of going handheld if I wanted, is too good to pass up.

Yup, it's got all DLCs, including the Spinner weapon for Link that was previously locked behind an amiibo, Fairy Garden, Adventure Mode, all the characters, etc.

As for what's new for the definitive version exclusively, I think the only thing confirmed so far for that is the Breath of the Wild costumes for Zelda and Link.

Specifically, one of the founders of the whole jrpg genre, Final Fantasy 1.

What's your preferred party to go with for FF1?

I remembered the PSP had the definitive version of FF1, plus, I've only played FF1 once and that was for the gba, so I decided to get into it.

I'm thinking I'm just gonna roll with the vanilla Knight, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage.

Edit: I'm sorry to say I almost forgot about this one since it's monthly or so. The impact of last chapter was redicilously strong for something so new. This chapter was very good. This is a great manga. It started off and felt like it was trying to be too edgy, but it's really damn good once you get into it.

Goddamn, Goblin Slayer is literally Doomguy.

His presence literally makes goblins soil themselves in front of their inevitable slaughter.

Also, I'm kind of dreading the eventual repercussion of having the goblin champion and the rest of the goblins getting away somewhere down the road.

On the other hand, if they spread the word of how badass Goblin Slayer is among their kind he will literally become the stuff of their nightmares.

Alright, so, I've been wandering around a lot of the different emu/modding/hacking forums, and I remembered about the Endless Frontier EXCEED English patch progress.

Since I know there were a few of you who were interested in this as well, here's a video of their most recent update. (Apr. 12, 2018)



Basically, 99% of the menus are done.

About 70% of the main story script is done.

No news on the exact date of when it'll be released, but he/she plans to have it out sometime this year.

One, why couldn't they just live by the river? They made a pretty big deal of how the river masks small sounds, so why couldn't just live on it, or near it?

And two, you mean to tell me after almost two years of this thing running around, they never bothered to use a supersonic attack on it? I mean, they already figured out it reacts to sound, nobody thought to themselves "hey, this thing uses sound to see, what if we sorta 'blind' it with a big enough or sharp enough sound?"

Other than that, I thought it was great. It's a pretty good thriller movie. Plus, it's always good to see an original idea come out of hollywood now and again.

Erina actually did it, the absolute madwoman!

She actually managed to incorporate peanut butter squid into her dish.

This basically a confession for her right? I mean, they're influencing each other's dishes so much now, that their ship is basically canon at this point.

I wasn't too thrilled at how the current arc has dragged on for this long, but now, it was worth it to see so much character development for Erina.

how does the fight work, is it just your squad of 4 hitting it, or are the other squads in the instance with your squad so more than 4 people

Haven't played it yet so I might be wrong but, as I understand it, you gather up with up to 16 people in the gathering hall and you all go on the mission at the same time, and the game divides you into 4 man groups.

You don't actually interact with the other groups as you go on the hunt, you just run around with the other three members of your group.

However, all of the groups share the same mission, which is "Break the target's horn." And as soon as any one member of any group accomplishes that, EVERYONE's mission is over.

Each group gets rewards depending on how many parts they've broken during the fight. You also get rewards if other groups break parts, albeit at a lesser degree.

The wording on that part really needs to be clarified.

I kinda see what Megas is saying, in that it doesn't specifically state that it needs 16 people online at once all in the gathering hub to fight it.

That said, I wonder how the actual monster fight is going to work if it does allow it to be engaged with only 4 people. Because it sounds like a raid boss and those are typically scaled to the max number of people.

Anyways, the Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san manga's current arc is probably the greatest arc ever in Shounen Jump history.

It's basically Battle Royale for the harem, except they're shooting water guns which is actually the MC transformed by a curse, the liquid it/he shoots out dissolves clothes, and the guns gain more power the more the girls manage to excite the MC.

Also, one of the girls gets turned into a giant by a loli tanuki.

Somehow, in the Franxx manga, he manages to outdo himself where it's almost blatantly uncensored but just manages to skirt the line so as not to get shut down. It's actually rather impressive.

i never read those but maybe I'll check this out if that's the case. been a while since I read a super explicit manga like that, minamoto-kun was the last or maybe that one about the uhh guy who owes a debt and he pays it off by being this young rich girl's boyfriend. someone remind me that name of that one...

Try the remake for the 3DS. They fixed all the loading time bs and added 2 new playable characters, plus a lot of cool little extras like costumes and mini-sidequests.

It looks a bit rough for a game supposedly coming out in a few months.

The character models look okay, but the world outside the cafe looks sorta bland. Plus, the framerate is kinda erratic at times.

Hopefully, they'll manage to fix at least the framerate by the time it comes out.

Say there's 3 games that I want but they're being sold in different stores.

Store A has games 1 and 2

Store B has games 2 and 3

All of them are pre-owned and cost the same.

Is it possible to buy Game 1 at Store A, head over to Store B, RETURN it, and then REBUY it along with Games 2 and 3, and make use of the B2G1 coupon?

Planning on getting witcher 3 goty and twilight princess hd. But I'm also interested in getting Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.

What's funny though is that I'm not really that much into ecchi stuff.

I prefer stories where romance/comedy, characters, and fluff comes first, and then the ecchi stuff is just a bonus.

It's why I prefer manga like Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san over To-Love-Ru. And my favorites are stuff like Jitsu wa Watashi wa, and Kaguya wants to be Confessed To, which have little to no fanservice at all.

Picked up the Code Realize (semi-)sequel, Future Blessings, for Vita. There is also a PS4 version available that has both the new game and the original Guardian of Rebirth on the same Blu-Ray disc.

Also made it to the theater to see Ready Player One. I tend to find Spielberg movies to be overly sentimental, but I still enjoyed it. Tons of references, including several to anime.

Looks like we had the same sort of day.

I also just picked up a jrpg, namely Aliance Alive for the 3DS, and saw Ready Player One.

It was alright, I guess. I definitely felt like the movie made a decision to make the supporting characters have less of an importance in order to streamline the story for a movie. And this is from someone who hasn't read the book.

Like, you can tell that Daito and Sho were supposed to be badass and important to the party in the book, but in the movie, they literally could have been replaced by any other character and nothing would change.

Yeah it's not a stretch to say that there may be a party wipe and only Goblin Slayer survives and probably the priest girl. Since I consider her a main character. But idk. She got her arm bit into really bad.

At the very least, I see priest girl withdrawing from combat for at least a few chapters in order to cope with her PTSD. If it does happen, I really hope we see this as a sort of humanizing moment for GS, since he does effectively have his own version of PTSD, and he could help priest girl through it.

I'm worried whether they'll make it too TV friendly and tone down some of the less savory scenes involving goblins.

The Goblin Slayer manga doesn't shy away from graphic depictions of violence, gore, and the brutal rape scenes. It serves as both a reminder to the readers of how truly monstrous goblins can get, and highlights just how badass Goblin Slayer is.

Toning down those parts will also tone down Goblin Slayer's character as a whole.

Heck even after that last panel, I'm not holding out high hopes for the party in the next chapter. They're effed.

I really do wonder what sort of creatures the higher rank adventurers consider actual threats. For all the chaos and mayhem the goblins cause, they're still considered low-tier monsters.

The Alliance Alive (3DS) released today. No fanfare for it, but it is another one of those first runs that Atlus does (i.e. special box, art book, soundtrack CD, keychain, etc.). Will have to see how it compares to Legend of Legacy.

I wanted to get that with all the bonus stuff, but it's even rarer than Stella Glow or Radiant Historia. The nearest store that has it is almost 20 miles away from where I live.

Should have pre-ordered it I guess.

I asked the store I go to if they're gonna get a copy, and they said they probably will soon, but it won't be the one with all the bonus stuff. :(
