Been living alone for 10 years this September. Since my grandfather died (my dad). There was some lead up to it with him being sick and not being able to do anything anymore anyway. But the first few months not to mention the first days being completely alone in the house were jarring. Just little things, like there being no smell of coffee or the sound of footsteps, water running, etc. You know, the sound of someone else being there.

But shortly after. Probably after the first year. It's great. Can be naked, can watch porn without headphones on, use the bathroom with the door open. I've flipped to the other direction now where the thought of living with someone other than pets seems suffocating to me now. It's freedom to do whatever however. Hell it's 80 degrees right now at 3am and I was watering the backyard plants naked a while ago. Peed out there too.

Now all that being said. I live a little over a mile from my mom, brothers and aunt. I see then every day. Have dinner together almost every day. If I didn't have them, I would have lost my mind by now. I'm not even being snarky about it. I would have seriously probably ended things by now if it wasn't for them being in my life and so close.

Basic nudes. Well hell it seemed like half the movie from the 80s had boobs in them so that I was already exposed to from the get go. Stupid softcore porn with still just boobs. 10. Red Shoe Diaries on free fancy cable weekends. That's how I knew who David Duchovny was when X Files started. Full frontal nude pics. I was 13. Friend with his dad's mags.

Real porn. As in real images of penetration. I didn't see that until I was 16. A friend in high school had porno mags and VHS porn that was duplicated 50 times.
The real thing was had to come by in the mid/late 90s, especially for a picked on nerd like myself. It wasn't like today. We didn't have the internet then.

I just made a huge brisket for the 4th. Smoked it in my cast iron grill with the smoker side box.
Cut off most of the fat which is like a sixth of the whole thing. Brine it overnight. Put a rub on it and then smoke it for about 4 hours while spraying it down with apple juice every half hour. Then taking it off and wrapping it in foil, put it back on for another 4 hours. The hardest part is retaining a temp of about 195 - 205 the whole time. And making sure the wood you're using is stripped of it's bark otherwise the smoke taste turns acrid. I used almond wood this time.

My god it was amazing. The best one I've done so far.

Our parish, as were many others around here, was combined. Many properties were purchased by the diocese and then lied as to them being "donations" from various groups. This was to get monies off the book that way there would be little to show when the settlement with the Diocese of San Diego which we were once a part of was being reached with some of the molestation cases. None happened directly under our diocese but did once when we were combined and so our diocese had to pay up a part. If all money was in property investment they got to say 'look at us, we're poor, we have nothing to give".
As the smaller of two towns that got combined we lost our school, out priest, out services, our office staff and our name. We became the afterthought. The bishop put out a press release to our parish that it was because the parish staff asked him for this "gift". Got caught in that lie because staff and priest were having non of it. Everyone left removed for not falling in line.

An old friend of the bishop's (woman) was illegally (in the catholic doctrine) installed as our "pastor" ranking above the priests. Walked up the aisle ahead of the priest every mass. This did not go over well at all nor should it have. Complaints were made to the vatican rep in DC. Money went missing. More services cut. She finally was out but by then our church was essentially gutted.

Yes and it depends but usually no.

My grandparents/aunts/mother were big time old fashioned catholics. Heavily involved, went to every function. Every prayer, church came first.
For whatever reason my brothers and I just didn't buy into it 100%. And there's only so much church you can take before you're sick of it by age 12. Not unless you personally get something out of going, out of the sermons. And that's the big problem the church has. That's why a lot of these new churches are seeing explosive growth and the catholic church in the US isn't. They have preachers that connect with you versus that being very rare with us. If you can understand these current third world priests at all that is. Money, money, money. The bishop wants more money. That's the long and short of every sermon. And it's like fuck him! And fuck you too!

We had a massive scandal in our parish. Not the molestation thing but a financial/property one. Due to how involved we were we saw behind the curtain so to speak. Saw how the sausage was made. The lies, the manipulation, the attitude, the back stabbing, the removals if priests that didn't fall in line with the lies. That is actually what did it for us. mother and aunts included. Grandparents had already passed by then. We rarely if ever go now. I just can't stomach it. Having to hear the bs about money. The praise of that pos rotten mother fucking bishop that I truly wish every horror in life upon. That sob.

Some movies, very few honestly, are a theater experience. Infinity War for instance.
Luckily my little theater that's a mile away is a first run and $3.50 for matinees and I go a few times a year just to do something. It's a cheap outing. But that's an exception compared to your typical theaters.
$10-15 a ticket. No thank you. That's a once a year event thing for us. Again, IW as an example.

Movies come out so fast now on video and then on tv what's even the point of dealing with the theater. I want to see Sicario for instance but it's not local. It'll be on Amazon or Netflix by October though. So I can sit back on my sofa or bed and enjoy it in silence. It's honestly a preferable experience since it's not a "big screen" film anyway.

I was best friends with a dude who's father was a local lawyer and step father a captain in the air force. He was kinda halfway between having that surfer look and just being a little too fat and dorky. But he was liked well enough I guess. And he had money to burn as a teen. Beautiful lifted truck. He had his christian friends he went places with that he knew somehow from who knows where. I even went to a christian high school football game with him once. I never really knew the connection. He still drank and smoked with the rest of us though.

Another friend was held back a year, skinny guy hairy as hell and looked 25 when he was 17. He screwed around with every girl he could get his hands on. Football player too. As cliche as any high school movie character could be as the sexaholic jock.

And yet neither were that popular. Honestly the ones that were the coolest most popular guys in hs were the jocks that had muscle cars. Those 60s/70s era boat sized cars all painted earth tone colors that sounded like drag racers in the parking lot. There was weirdly enough of this sub group to be a thing. Like 14-15 guys from what I remember.

My one friend's air force step dad had a Olds Hurst with a 455 engine. 1969 i think. It was his baby. It was fully restored to mint. Long story short my friend took it out with me one day and it had issues so he hitched a ride back to town and left me to keep an eye on this thing that even in the 90s I'm sure was worth tens of thousands on the side of a road in the hills miles away. I opened the hood to look after he hitched a ride and reconnected a simple wire to the distributor and it turned on. I drove the thing back to town and picked him up at a gas station. That car was like driving a bullet train. The acceleration on it was insane. Like you were being sling shotted on a roller coaster.

If they didn't come back looking for it by close, which was surprisingly often, then whoever was closing got to split whatever was in there. It was more or less the rule we had. The rest went into the trash that night.
Sadly a lot of times being outlet stores that are frequented by rude annoying foreigners on shopping trips, the wallets would be filled with their stupid candy colored monopoly money. Why they would even bring that here is beyond me. No one takes it. And they get attitude about that btw. It may as well be toilet paper for what it's actually worth here.
Our supervisors trashed a couple of passports too.

You feel guilty the first time. But in retail, specifically outlet mall retail. You quickly learn to hate everyone that shops there. Especially the chinese tourists. Dear lord there are no ruder people on earth. So the emotion moves from guilt, to I'm okay with this, to let me do the honors because fuck these people in about a week.

Of course it's fucking CNN. What a load of absolute pig shit.
And CNN and people in general act surprised and shocked when the president calls them fake news. I mean for god sake. If they don't want that moniker then don't publish such obvious fake bs like that.
And just for snark sake. Ohhhh America is ranked 10 because of the MeToo movement. Well then if we're including that shit as a qualifier and probably all that other nonsense like a woman being hit on is the same as rape and how air conditioning is assault perpetrated by the evil patriarchy then no wonder.
Here, let me make of some bs of my own that's on an equivalent level of journalistic integrity.
If cow farts are the same thing a gold dust that deposits on the ground like dew in the morning then Texas has the most billionaire aphids per capita than all first world countries combined.
I mean mother fucking shit! This is the sort of preposterous bs that passes a "news" today.
