I'm certain that there was this other bloke who announced that he, [what's-his-face], graduated college after four years, while working full-time and taking a full-time schedule during his last three semesters, as I recall. I know this only because I had tracked that topic for later, as I wanted to see other people praise him for his successes. I have this bad habit of making myself feel inferior on purpose by comparing myself to people far more successful in life than me, so while I read about how much more hard-working and proactive other people are than I am, I'm just obsessing over how unfulfilling my life is compared to them.

Now, you have the harder problem of, if you actually agree with me, and believe me, to actually be able to internalize it. Because saying, "oh, these a******s did better than me, f*** them" isn't the go way to look at your classmates. Everyone's in it together, and someone doing better than you doesn't directly effect you. Someone getting 20% higher than you doesn't reduce your score in any way, you got your score, and he/she got his/hers. It's a good thing, because that means you can ask them how they did the problems, and use a community knowledge pool to make learning easier.

I feel like they'd think I was stupid if I did ask. For this midterm, though, I kind of know already how I got my score, since my teacher explained it during class.

If you have your heart set on any sort of graduate studies or a research-based occupation after graduating, your GPA is critical. Start cracking the books.

Mathematics and I plan on looking into the actuarial profession, and I don't plan on going to graduate school.

Only the ultra-competitive or those focused on academics and research care much about GPA; the rest are more interested in your applicable experience via things like summer jobs.

I do have a job but it's not really related to my field of interest. I have it for the sole purpose of paying my tuition.

Keep trying, but try and separate you trying your best from you worrying about your grade. If you can manage to simply try for the sake of trying to do good, and find some level of satisfaction no matter what grade you receive, it would probably be the best scenario for you.

Recently, worrying about what my grades are going to be is causing me more stress than necessary. In the end, with this class, I got a seventy-six on my mid-term exam. That's like a few points higher than the median and a B- in this class. I've been trying and trying to study for this class and I frankly am not confident that I am going to score higher than a B for the class because I really think that that's my limit. I'm also sick of comparing myself to the half of the class who scored higher than me because it makes me self-conscious, and such; so I can't help but feel that I worry so needlessly about the most insignificant stuff sometimes. But at the same time, I can't help but think of how this will affect my GPA. Should I stop worrying? Should I do it less often? I've been going to college for five years, and I can't help but feel stupid for not learning not to manage the stress related to stuff like this. I mean, it should be obvious that I cannot ace every class I must attend. Yet, when I got back my score today, I was too bummed out to focus on homework, or do much else but stare at some kind of wall, thinking about my test score and comparing myself to the other half of the class who did better than me. Anyway, should I stop trying to get straight A's in college?

Nowadays, when I go to school, I can't help but feel like I'm in some kind of daze. Like, during class, I kind of find it a struggle to pay attention and take down notes. It's like when I go to class, I don't think that I even have the energy to engage myself in studying math and listening to my instructors. Additionally, I find that just finding the energy to study independently is a struggle in of itself. I really need more motivation to study, but I'm really so tired to the point that I cannot even do so... I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't know if it's because I've been attending eight semesters in a school in a row, but I just cannot will myself to focus in class nowadays. I'm just sitting at my laptop worrying over my Real Analysis midterm coming up this Thursday, in addition to hating this new laptop that I had to buy because my old desktop broke due to not being cleaned for over four years. I'm also hating Awakening's tendency to spawn enemy reinforcements at the beginning of the enemy's turn. I know that this is common in Fire Emblem games, but I can't help but feel that it's unfair when these reinforcements pop up out of nowhere and obliterate the weaker members of your team, forcing you to restart. I mean, sometimes they tell you that those reinforcements are coming, but sometimes they don't, and I'm here thinking that's a bit unfair. I really liked it better when these things spawned at the end of the enemy turn so that I know what to expect. I personally don't think there's anything tactical about planning for reinforcements that may show up out of nowhere, what class they might be, and how best to deal with them. It just forces you to restart so that you can learn to expect them the next time you play the chapter, which I feel is unnecessary padding. I'm also thinking about whether to reclass Lucina so that she gets Galeforce. But I figured that that would be too much of a pain in my ass to level her up from a pegasus knight to a dark flier, level up fifteen more levels, then transition back to a lord, then level up ten times to a great lord. Overall, I feel like that by the time I reach the end-game, I will have used too many resources (enemy spawns, paralogues, reclassing seals) to level her up--resources that I could have used to spend on other units of my team. In the end, I feel like it would have wasted a crap-ton of my time, and used up more effort than was necessary. I mean, I just need her to poke the final boss with her Falchion.
