I think employers should pay a living wage and not expect people to live on tips but at the same time I don't want my hardworking college student/single parent/whatever their situation is server to have to sell plasma or suck a dick to pay their rent for the month if people don't feel like tipping for whatever reason. We make plenty of money and can easily afford to tip 20% for a good server. 10% is for substandard service or being rude/creepy. I think I've only tipped nothing a handful of times where the server was being a total asshole or creepy to my wife and they were basically begging us to not tip them.
