One thing I think is messed up about the county jail where I live (but also a good thing I suppose) is that they keep all sex offenders in their own pod in the jail away from all the other inmates. Oh and they get to work in the laundry room which is really strange and makes me think they be sniffing the drawers.

You can't OD from it. Well maybe if you deliberately injected some extract or something else equally stupid but kratom is not an opioid, it is a plant that contains some 20 or so indole alkaloids. A couple of them bind to both mu AND delta opioid receptors (opioids of abuse traditionally are highly selective to the mu, in fact the delta receptor acts differently.) They also bind with much less strength than traditional opioids, which is part of the reason why kratom is so safe.

The other remaining alkaloids show properties reminiscent of stimulants like caffeine, and also a couple seem to be anti-inflammatory. Different strains can carry different proportions of these alkaloids and that is why some kratom is better for pain, some for anxiety, and how some others yet can be energizing.

For anyone looking for a cheap legal high, please look elsewhere. Not only is kratom not likely to scratch that itch, as it is a very mild thing to experience for most, but that kind of behavior can also ruin it for the thousands of responsible users. It is mildly addictive, with withdrawals that basically resemble coming off a weak opiate. But for me, someone who did heroin from age 17 to 22, for like 80 bucks a month I now have over a year clean and holding down a shit job as well as getting all A's in my first quarter in college as a 24 year old CS major.

If you are someone with a physical day of labor ahead of you, or some other task you need to get done but don't want to, I would suggest looking into a green or white vein variety. Or for someone looking to unwind after a long day, perhaps a red vein. I guess it can also help with PE lol but other than that that's what I would say to anyone interested in learning about it.

I'm only going part-time atm so I've only had one class of actual programming, and it's all C++. I came in with no prior knowledge either.
