and other, similar obvious luxuries should be purchasable with SNAP benefits? Note that I'm not suggesting no non-essential foodstuffs at all, just eliminating prepackaged foods and luxury items.

Sorry I am stepping on question you are asking someone else, but why does it matter. These people life suck, if they want to get a snicker bar. I won't feel put out.

I use to work at a place the processed benefits . I saw people game the system . But most people were hard working people just in need. This one time this old woman ate a smelly ass hot dog in my office while I was working with her. So yeah I had some people who just didn't care. But most were not like here.

Hard working people in need don't need luxuries, they need groceries. I'm not saying it all needs to be beans and rice. For the price of a 12 pack of soda you can get enough sugar and tea bags or Kool aid to last a month. For the price of two candy bars you can get a box of cake or brownie mix. A single steak costs as much as three pounds of ground beef. If SNAP cut out prepackaged foods then the money people get would stretch a lot further and would in general be healthier.

Wouldnt sugar and cake/brownie mix also count as luxuries?

That's a big fat depends for me. Lately it's been ~76, it'll cut down to ~62-67 in a couple of weeks, then back up to mid 70's in late March/April.

Excuse me? I never liked the iPhone 7 and only upgraded because it was cheaper. I listen to music and watch videos a lot and the headphone jack bullshit is infuriating. I have two pairs of perfectly good headphones that I cant use with the adapter the phone gives you, and not being able to charge and use headphones at the same time is a bother. Id recommend keeping the iPhone 6 if you have it.

the note about suicide- it just further illustrates why less guns correlates with less death. it's easier to kill yourself with the pull of a trigger than it is any other way.

A person who wanted to kill themselves could easily do it without a gun, so less guns would not mean less death.
Depending on how old you are, it could actually be easier to get ahold of a kitchen knife to stab yourself in or jump off a roof than it would be to get a gun and shoot yourself with it.

it's easier to do it with a trigger squeeze. It takes nuts to stab yourself (or anyone else really) moreso than pulling a trigger.

You also have a chance of missing a key artery or your heart. Harder to penetrate your skull with a knife

But good luck going through the process of getting the gun if youre a teenager and your parents dont have one. And there are complications with using a gun too (there was just recently a girl who was shot and survived, though it wasnt a suicide).

The point is that its still relatively simple to make the attempt without a gun. Banning guns would prevent maybe 1% of suicides, and that 1% would be from people who still tried to do it, they just failed.
