Maybe they should do something about the rampant bullying that goes on in schools instead of sticking their heads in the sand while punishing those that stand up to it.

Agreed. That is certainly a part of the overall solution.

Internet Comment Etiquette w/ Erik - Big Money makes me laugh.

CornshaqGaming - Mostly for his reviews. His tastes and judgment seem to be in line with my own for the most part, and he reviews a lot of lesser known titles that get passed over by mainstream review outlets.

theneedledrop - Music reviewer with fairly varied, eclectic taste.

Honorable mentions:

DevilDogGamer - I watch a lot of his Escape From Tarkov stuff. Some of his other content is interesting but Im mostly into it for Tarkov.

Gameranx - Pretty much my go-to gaming news channel. They seem to be on top of a lot of things in the industry, and cover major releases fairly well. Couple of funny people in their crew, too.

VaatiVidya - SoulsBorne lore channel.

The only thing I can figure TC's very dumb friend did is that since the game he is buying is $40 and TC said "rather than give me $30," he subtracted $30 from $40. I don't know how that makes sense logically, but that's the only way I can see him coming out with those numbers.

That's possible. All it takes for even basic math is to forget one little step and in this case TC's friend mighta forgot to split that $40 in half between finding the difference between the $30 and $20.

This is what Im thinking.

As much as I appreciate everyone calling my friend an idiot, those saying we shouldnt game share over $10 should understand thats its not as big a deal as theyre making it out to be. Weve been friends for ages.

I can see where theres reason for being cautious. If we had a true falling out, wed both be out a few hundred dollars in games, depending on who bought what and who has whatever games still stored in their hard drive. I dont anticipate an argument of that magnitude, certainly not over $10. Something could happen, but its doubtful.

It's funny to me that the argument always seems to follow what we see in this topic.

One side says we need common-sense gun law reform. The other said says you can't take their guns away, which makes no fucking sense.

That's not realistic and it's stupid. Almost nobody is actually arguing taking guns away. Stop with this slippery slope bull shit. You've got cars, planes, chemicals, and all sorts of stuff that's highly regulated. We just made it safer for everyone by making that stuff harder to get.

This.

Restrictions, background checks, etc =/= the end to your Constitutional rights. Youre still free to pursue the ownership of firearms, theres simply more protections in place.

I like the idea of insuring firearms. There will never be a single wholesale solution to gun violence, but we have to do something.

Why would he hitch a ride in a truck to Sacramento of all places, and who would drive someone who is injured for 3000 miles?

People do strange things when they suffer head injuries. He likely wasnt completely with it

Might have a brain tumor, or something else. Im just guessing. But my money would be on him being out of sorts enough to do something like this, but not so out of sorts that the truck driver saw any reason to be alarmed.

The truck driver had never met him before, had no idea what his normal behavior, speech, mannerisms, etc are. The guy he met just needed a lift.

Its never been an issue, but weve never bought two games so close together like this before. Usually one of us buys the game and the other pays half in cash.

Honestly dont think hes intentionally trying to gyp me out of $10. He legit believes hes correct.

We game share on PS4. Usually we go halves on games, but recently two games we wanted released fairly close to each other.

I bought Monster Hunter: World for $60. Shadow of the Colossus Remake was coming out at $40, so I said rather than give me $30 for MH: W, just to buy SotC and give me $10. Simple, no?

He insists that not only is my math wrong, but if anything I owe him $10. Ill admit that math is not my strong suit, but am I crazy or is he possibly correct in this?

The way I see it:

$60 + $40 = $100

Half of $100 is $50

SotC is $40

$50 - $40 = $10 that he would owe me, no?

Im about ready to give in and just tell him to keep the $10.

This.

TCs brother is putting them in a dangerous situation by not teaching them how to properly handle the firearm BEFORE firing, telling them to expect the kick and how to brace for it. Aside from hurting themselves, they could injure or kill an innocent bystander at the range.

If that happened at the range I attend, theyd throw you out. Might even revoke your membership.

I never doubted it based on solely Wickershams history and pedigree as a journalist. Hes not the type of writer to make shit up and he always does his research.

I guess Brandon Browner commented on the locker room rift and DontA Hightower liked it or whatever, as well as a couple former Patriots, and people are pointing to that as evidence corroborating the article lol

The talk around Boston is focused heavily on the decision to have Malcolm Butler suit up only to play one snap, and that came on a special teams play.

Big controversy given how poorly the Patriots defense, particularly the secondary, was performing.

People are wondering if Belichick held Butler back out of spite for whatever reason. A lot of the fans who thought that Wickersham article (about a rift in the Pats locker room) was bunk are now starting to wonder if it was true after all.

Except Hob came out well after the founders departed and is an awesome game, and Runic was shut down largely due to downsizing at Perfect World.

Given with how fantastic Hob is, it's a shame the studio was shut down. Would've liked to see what they would've done next.

The problem is that video games, in their rise in popularity, have become mainstream. Become "Hollywood", so to speak.

As such, they're much more corporate, business-oriented, and revenue driven.

So, you have less risk taking, less innovation, less creativity, more sequels, more copycats...

That's not to say there isn't the opposite of all of this. It's just that by and large AAA development has become this "profit first" monstrosity, at the expense of the gaming community. There's too much bloat, too many corporate talking heads making decisions, instead of game-makers and creative visionaries making decisions.

It's a shame studios like Runic get shut down, while the big publishers keep churning out endless sequels and rehashes. Nothing against the CoDs and Maddens of the industry. There's obviously a market for that. But games like Hob are great, and it would've been nice to see some advertising thrown behind a title like that in order to generate some buzz around it. Would've been nice if a bigger publisher would've been more open to taking the risk on a game like Hob, and helping the studio to get the word out. Runic deserved success, not shutdown. (Only using Runic as an example due to their recent closure. Could point to countless other studios.)
