That tweet says "after surgery"

According to the story, the ambulance was stopped on the way to the hospital, border patrol tried to get them to transfer her to a Mexican hospital instead (they refused), then border patrol followed the ambulance and staked armed officers outside her room until she was discharged. After that, she was moved to a facility for unaccompanied minors.

Okay, there's still a bunch of details missing.

Perhaps they're in the article, you should try reading it

This story is really lacking in details

It didn't specify the circumstances surrounding the kid's death. At least on from the article. I didn't check the video.

Sat in a swing unattended for a week, starving to death and unable to move. I mean fucking duh.

I was more curious about things like
- What was the living situation like/what condition was the home in
- Who was in charge of caring for this child
- Where was this person
- Who called the authorities

That kind of stuff

Not necessarily. I know people who have made a point never to touch it due to a history of alcoholism in their family, or due to negative past experiences with drunk people. If Donny's dad used to get drunk and beat his ass, for example, that would be a good reason for him to never want to touch the stuff.

Because Trump is well-known for his self control, you know...

I wasn't talking about self control, but rather the desire to drink at all. If it's not something that appeals to him, whatever the reason, he's unlikely to try it.

Thats not true either. Most people would choose the baby over the adult because A) the baby realistically has no way of saving itself, and B) most adults would not expect you to save them instead of the baby. It does not mean the adult doesn't count as a life.

And just because someone would rather save a baby than a bunch of undeveloped human fetuses does not mean the fetuses don't count as life either. Thanks for playing.

It means they are not equal, which they would be if life really begins at conception.

Autonomous vehicles are going to be so much safer that these conversations, while interesting, are ultimately pointless.

If a plane suffered a software glitch that killed everyone on board, we wouldn't suddenly stop planes from flying on autopilot. Regardless of the risks. The risks are so minute that they really don't materialize often enough to be a real danger. And we could conceivably get 100% success rates with autopilot software.

For argument's sake, I'd say the car should swerve into another lane. It's more likely that the vehicle will protect the passenger than kill them. Consider a Tesla Model S - they're tanks.

As long as there are non-autonomous vehicles sharing the road with autonomous vehicles, it's something that has to be taken into account. Of course, I seem to remember awhile back seeing a video where a Tesla correctly predicted a collision between two other vehicles in front of it and was able to compensate appropriately

Let's make this scenario more interesting and say the choice is to either hit 3 school children running across the road or swerve into the other lane and crash, likely killing the passenger. Should the car prioritize the life of its passenger? Or should it make the moral decision that "saving more lives" is the correct choice?

This is definitely the more interesting question, and I think what it comes down to is that the car would prioritize the lives of its occupants

That's the point he was making. Pro-life people claim that life begins at conception, and that's why abortion is wrong. If that's the case, then 1000 lives are most definitely worth more than 1.

No it isn't, because that would mean an adult somehow doesn't count as life since most people would also save the baby given a choice between the two.

Thats not true either. Most people would choose the baby over the adult because A) the baby realistically has no way of saving itself, and B) most adults would not expect you to save them instead of the baby. It does not mean the adult doesn't count as a life.

I think most people agree that babies get priority over anything else.

Lind of like how most pro-life people think it's ok for a pregnant woman to get life-saving chemotherapy even though it will probably kill her baby.

That's the point he was making. Pro-life people claim that life begins at conception, and that's why abortion is wrong. If that's the case, then 1000 lives are most definitely worth more than 1. But in practice, saving the baby over the embryos is the obvious choice. That's because everyone knows they are not equivalent.

That's because the post you made was an irrelevant tangent. Your dog isn't there. The choice is between a baby or 1000 embryos. Two options.

And most people would obviously choose to save the baby. The point of my questions is to show that choosing to save a baby is in no way an admission that fetuses aren't worth protecting.

And the point of the question was not to decide whether either of them is worth saving. It was about which one gets priority in a situation where you can only save one.

And he responded to people like me who pointed out that his question was bogus by blocking them

Which is about as close to owning someone as getting punched in the mouth and retaliating by crying and running away.

TopicIs Morrowind worth playing?
eston
10/26/17 12:29:17 PM

Morrowind is a great game, but you have to understand how the mechanics work before diving in. It's played in first-person, but the fighting does not work like a typical first-person game.

For example, when you attack someone in Oblivion and Skyrim, if your weapon hits the guy then it will damage him exactly like you would expect. In Morrowind, you might see your sword or arrow pass right through somebody but not hit at all. That's because the game weighs stats to determine whether or not an attack is successful. It's more like what you'd find in a JRPG or something like that.

It can be a little frustrating when your stats are low, but you'll get the hang of it.

No no, what's being said is that TC and some of the media are trying to make this into a horrific acid attack when really it's about a piece of shit black guy who called a teenager a "white bitch" and threw a drink on her.

That's not siding with the attacker. The guy is still a piece of shit. Again, point to the people who are actually siding with the attacker.
