I wouldn't feel too bad about it. As Dante already mentioned, had you bought it back then, it's very doubtful that you would have waited until today to unload it all. I've done the fanciful calcs in my head as to how loaded I'd be if I would have bought at $20... but I would have probably just sold at $100.

I used Coinbase as that seems to be the biggest, but a buddy who's big on this told me Coinbase charges higher fees than some of the other services out there, so I might roll my coin into another service.

Some people in the accounting world have made a big stink that the blockchain is BitCoin's great contribution to digital currency (wiki says it was the first blockchain ever). I figured that all that processing power was put toward the blockchain in some way, as that's the main thing that made BitCoin unique in the first place. Guess not!

I do understand the rationale behind a bullish attitude. What makes me hesitate, though, is that Bitcoin's already gotten huge (at least compared to traditional companies). As of today, Bitcoin has a larger market cap than companies like Disney or GE. If it hits $15k like I have seen speculated, it'll be right there with the world's 10-20 largest companies in terms of size.

It's trading at nearly 10k per coin (~$9,650 as of this post). I threw some fun bucks a couple weeks ago when it was soaring, kind of expecting to get burned - and if I sell now it'll pay for the Disney vacation I'm planning to take this weekend.

I'm looking for some confirmation here since my memory is fuzzy: Bitcoin was first available for trading back in 2010. The internet generally did know about it back then, right? I remember it being a known entity on GameFAQs years ago, which would have coincided with the time it was only a few bucks per coin.

Yeah, I've heard lukewarm things about CoDWW2 despite the sales. The biggest stories I've seen regarding Western releases this year have definitely leaned negative (Andromeda, Battlefront 2) while the big Japanese games (again - Zelda, Mario, P5, Nier, RE7) released with a ton of positive reaction among gamers, and they seem to have maintained that through the year.

Great, I just called T-Mobile support about my mobile data problems the last week, and the rep told me that my phone is incompatible with the new mobile upgrades they recently rolled out. Woulda been nice to know before I'm hours behind everyone else on the Black Friday shopping. Walmart has a Galaxy S7 for $300, but I'm sure that's sold everywhere. =/

True, I actually wanted to point that out in my original post but got lazy. A Pokemon pack (or X-Men pack from the 90s, or any pack of cards that I actually collected) usually guaranteed you rarity numbers. For example, a pack of 10 cards would have something like:

7-9 common cards
0-2 uncommon cards (if they deck had such a distinction)
1 rare card

Now, I have no idea if a loot crate does the same thing, but my uneducated guess is that it WOULD give a similar breakdown like:

7-9 garbage-tier rewards
0-2 mid-tier rewards (new weapons?)
1 high-tier reward (new character?)

If lootboxes have no such guarantee (meaning a player could get 100% garbage-tier rewards in a box), then yeah, that's more randomized than the trading cards of days gone by, and that's a pretty shitty practice. That said, we have to acknowledge that even with trading cards, there was a good chance that the "guaranteed rare" card was some bullshit you didn't want anyway. Everyone wanted the Charizard, but everyone knew there was a chance they'd get a non-shiny Kangaskhan and sulk over it the rest of the day.

If more than one applies (which I kinda tried to limit by including the word ONLY within the first three options), then the idea is that you're supposed to keep going down the options and select the bottom-most one that applies to you. Is this as good of a deal as it looks? That's pretty much the upper limit of what I'm willing to spend on a new laptop.

My gf just got an HP Envy with similar specs (looks like the same processor and a solid state 256G drive instead of a 1TB traditional one) for $700, so that $449 looks good. I mean, it definitely looks like the superior deal to me, but my gf has fallen in love with her new laptop, and I'm not even gonna try to convince her to hunt for better deals.

Fair enough, I actually forgot about the Gimp scene somehow (maybe cuz I never had to watch it with my parents). But I do think the Hateful Eight scene is more uncomfortable because the character who received the oral goes into vivid, maniacal detail in his retelling of the story. It's really not entertaining at all, whereas the Pulp Fiction scene was played out with a darkly humorous tone.

Not a forced blowjob torture scene. I haven't seen every Tarantino movie, but the ones I have (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Basterds, Django) had nothing like that.

But yeah, I didn't start watching with the folks. I was at their house to keep my grandma company (she's old and doesn't like to be left alone) while my parents were out. I wanted to leave when they returned home, but my dad saw a Western on TV and wanted to watch and my mom asked me to stay. This was like 10 minutes before the bj scene. What bad timing.

I didn't mind the slow buildup but hated (big spoilers)

the secret bandit hiding underneath the floorboards the whole time. I felt it was a cheap way to move the plot forward. I was hoping for a huge payoff after 90 minutes of slow-burn, but that wasn't it.

Yeah, Arena wasn't even the coach for a year, and it looks like he was brought in to salvage the USMNT's World Cup qualification efforts after a bad start under Klinsmann (dunno how accurate that is; just my inference after browsing the wiki).

I dunno about our immediate prospects, but I imagine the state of men's soccer in the US will improve in the coming generation after more parents pull their kids out of football. They gotta play something.
