Anyway, based on (nearly majority demand) Trails in the Sky is next. I know this is a long RPG... and that's about it.

It's an old school RPG with an extremely fleshed out setting and characters. Like, much more so than normal RPGs. Even a lot of the random townspeople NPCs are given unique personalities and dialogue that change as you go through the game.

The story isn't OMGAWESOMEWTF tier but its executed very well because of how personal it ends up feeling due to the way the series handles its characters.

There isn't much wandering at all honestly

It's more akin to Mario 64 or Sunshine where there are clear stated goals in each level and then some extra stuff you can also find on the side

Yeah its a really great game

The only real issue I had with it is that there wasn't more of it! Which is a pretty good problem to have on the whole honestly

And they are releasing more worlds free I believe in the future

That was possibly the worst episode of Arrow this season.

Flash was... alright. I'm not sure I like that they replaced The Thinker's actor like that. The ending was kind of interesting, at least.

Legends was really good. The premise of the episode was absurd in the best way, and Younger Martin's actor killed it in that scene with Jax at the end.

There's actually 9 roulettes in total but you probably won't ever see the 9th unless you play a TON.

Leveling, Trial, Main Scenario, 50/60, Guildhest, Frontline, Alliance Raid, Expert, and Mentor.

Guildhests stop being a thing post level 45 though so most people don't regularly do them, and Main Scenario is really only worth doing if you need poetics.

Now that you've finished the vanilla ARR story, you have a TON of new dungeons and raids and stuff that opened up.

I HIGHLY recommend you do the Hildibrand quests, they are hilarious. It starts at Wymond in Ul'dah.

Level 50 dungeons are littered around everywhere, and there's like 15 of them or something (not the actual number). Some of them are part of the post-ARR main scenario.

You've already started the Hard Mode primals (which aren't actually that hard), and after those the Extreme versions open up (though you won't be able to find people doing these legit much anymore, most old 'hardcore raid content' is just done unsync'd by max level players).

Speaking of raid content, you can do The Binding Coil of Bahamut now. Though again, you almost certainly won't be able to experience it outside of max level players doing it unsync'd. It's well worth taking an hour or two to do it for the story, though. But you might wanna wait til you're a bit higher level.

You'll also have the ARR 24 man raid (24 mans are all casual raids in FF14, as in you can pug them), The Crystal Tower, to do. This one you'll actually be able to do at-level, because of the Alliance Raid Roulette. It starts in Mor Dhona.

Anyway, unfortunately the post-ARR plot is... pretty bad until you get near the end (where it gets amazing). There's 100 quests between the end of 2.0 and the start of Heavensward, and a LOT of the first like 3 patches of content (about 50-60 quests) is really bad filler.

Thankfully its the last egregious bit of filler in the entire story, because they really upped their game in Heavensward and Stormblood and cut out a lot of the menial filler quests that nobody liked.

If Kinzo's window is above or near the boiler room's outside entrance, throwing his body out the window in the morning and dragging it into the boiler room is much easier to get away with than pulling him through the mansion.

His window points outside the mansion, the boiler exit points to the inner courtyard.

What exactly is the Est archetype? I'm pretty sure she ended up being my strongest Falcon Knight in Echoes (Faye was second best).

The Est archetype is a character that joins very underleveled, but has GREAT growths so if you actually do level them, they are great units. Also tend to join quite late, but not always. Some examples (aside from Est herself) are Nino, Ewan, and Elincia

Oh and I'm genuinely surprised by how not only inoffensive but somewhat likable Lift was in the final part of the book. Her original chapter and Edgedancer were GOD AWFUL to read through and I groaned the few times she showed up before that, but she was pretty decent in the final battle. Hopefully Sanderson can keep that up.

Mmmm I think the book was overall better than Way of Kings but definitely not as good as Words of Radiance.

I think my biggest issue with it was the pacing. It was fine for the first bit and during the Kholinar stuff, but everything else just felt like it plodded. There was just huge swathes of the book after the first couple hundred pages where almost nothing happened, up until they left for Kholinar. The climax/ending stuff was also kinda weird feeling.

Also biggest disappointment of all time award goes to Taravangian. After being built up for two books and seeming like a really impressive antagonist he fell flat on his face in this book and delivered on absolutely zero of his build up.

I'm like 20 pages from the end but had to take a break because I just did like 250 pages in one sitting <_<

So basically just need to read the 'epilogue' more or less.

Just as a heads up, the two end-of-ARR dungeons coming up relatively soon (at 50, naturally), Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium, are very... poorly designed.

They're 8 man dungeons (the only of their kind), and have a butt load of cutscenes in them. Like, 20+ minutes of cutscenes DURING the dungeons. Naturally, this leads to people not wanting to wait around for newbies to watch the cutscenes if you do it with randoms, meaning you'll either miss the entire dungeon or be forced to skip cutscenes. I dunno if you've found an FC yet, but if you have, most FCs are pretty willing to run 'newbie runs' with their members so that they can experience them. Or you could maybe throw up a party finder and see if anybody will do it, if FC isn't an option.

Running them with randoms sucks really bad because most people just run through the dungeons.

They're the only dungeons that do this, because SE learned their lessons from this. The finale dungeons of Heavensward and Stormblood are both quite a bit better designed.

She did meet Kinzo after solving the riddle and Kinzo apologized to her before he died, yes.
