BotW is the kinda game that really needed the structure from the old games. After a while, you're just going from shrine to shrine accomplishing simple puzzles for rewards that you can easily attain via common cooking ingredients or clearing another camp only to be rewarded with a weapon you don't care about or some umpteenth gem you don't need. The divine beasts are a fine little goal but they're no more engaging than any other shrine because by virtue of the design of the game, they had to be doable at any point.

What? How is that pay to win? All monsters start off super weak.

The fun thing about Monster Rancher was random codes giving you stuff or being able to scan in stuff like music CDs into your PS1. Tying that to amiibos would be terrible because they're going to tie rare stuff to them just to move units. It's the sort of thing that's a great idea if you're already into amiibos, those of us that aren't just see a cash grab.

New York Times got caught working with the Hillary campaign. The only idiots in the equation are the people who believe them.

Look at the source here. "according to one person who attended the meeting and another person who was briefed about it by a different person who was there."

Trump said this, according to "one person" and "another person" who was told by a "different person."

Yeah, bud, that's kind of how an anonymous source works.

Yeah, bud, that's also kind of how made up news works.

Remember that time Veritas tried to dupe WaPo into disseminating fake rape accusations against Moore? Remember when WaPo didn't bite and post an article about it? It's almost like actual news agencies vet their sources before using them, shocking I know. It's no surprise that the Trump administration has been leaking news constantly since he got into the WH, why would this one suddenly be suspect?

Only about a third of Americans say that they will definitely or probably vote for Donald Trump if he runs for reelection in 2020, while half indicate that theyll definitely or probably support his Democratic general election challenger, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

The poll found that just 18 percent of those surveyed believe that they will "definitely" support Trump if he runs in the next presidential election, with another 18 percent saying that theyll "probably" choose him. But a significant chunk 38 percent say theyre dead set on voting against the GOP commander-in-chief, with an additional 14 percent saying that theyll probably vote for the Democrat on the ballot.

While even the most nascent stages of the 2020 presidential race are likely at least a year away and, of course, its unknown who will run for and win the Democratic nomination, how a possible primary challenger to Trump might fare and even whether Trump will ultimately decide to pursue another term at all the numbers are striking when compared to the nations mood about then-President Bill Clinton after the first year of his presidency.

I wonder how Obama fared at this same point in his presidency.

Polls said hed never get the nomination or win the presidency too

That's how polls work, they give the chances, not a for sure "candidate X will win /lose (at least good polls don't)." Looking at 538's aggregate, putting him at 28.6% chance of victory doesn't mean the poll is wrong, it means the 28.6% happened.

Would you be OK with Twitter banning Muslims that espoused terrorist ideology

Yes if the alternative was "Twitter is going to ban Muslims"

It's too slippery a definition.

If you want to argue "Twitter is going to ban direct instructions on how to build home-made bombs." then yeah sure go ahead.

But beliefs that could be considered extremism are very gray.

Even the belief that everyone is born Muslim and decoverted to something else by upbringing could be considered terrorist idealogy and thats a widespread belief.

And if Twitter is too heavy handed in their approach, they'll again face backlash due to wrongful termination. I sincerely doubt they're looking at single posts and banning unless it's particularly egregious, but instead looking more at overall histories and the networks these people frequent.

Private companies can do pretty much what they like within reason, that doesn't make it a good thing to do so.

Twitter has every right to ban all black users and censor anyone who talks about eating mangos,

Right. And the public can decide whether they choose to support the site afterwards. No one gives a fuck about nazis getting their fee fees hurt because they're getting banned, so Twitter faces no backlash for this.

UnfairRepresent posted...
Doesn't make it a good idea. Going "It's good that the most widely avaiable method of global communciation is banning ideas I don't like" is short-sighted.

This isn't just limited to nazi ideology. Would you be OK with Twitter banning Muslims that espoused terrorist ideology or would you also agree that they should be allowed free use because "it's banning ideas I don't like?"

No I'm saying "I oppose free speech because people will say things I disagree with." is horrible logic.

Once you start that ball rolling it won't stop.

Let people talk, if they are truly horrific then they will defeat themselves.

Free speech is not freedom from consequence. Private companies no longer want to offer hate speech a platform to proliferate, and you'd know they're entirely within their rights to do so if you bothered to read the terms of service when making your account.

You couldn't have missed the point harder if you tried.

What was your point? That people should be forced to tolerate abhorrent beliefs for the sake of fairness? That private companies should allow them fair say on their networks because they're not as big a problem as real nazis?
