I bought my first gaming PC pre-built on cyber Monday back in 2013 for just about $1000 off. It's a great starting point.

GPU prices as of late have been kind of crazy. If you can get a cheap pre-built one now, you can always upgrade individual parts in the future. It's what I did.

Of course, I had money to blow back then.
