Just taking a look at the number of registered users on here is a indication that not many people want to engage in conversation on here that much now or have resorted to small private boards (it helps, but high activity is rare).

The Major Companies have taken a course for the worst, there only being a few left with some small dignity.

One being Square Enix, despite small blunders over the years...least they're kind of trying. Hell they were even completely honest when they said that Final Fantasy 15 was a incomplete game, I appreciate that type of honesty rather than keeping it secret.

I don't agree with their service model for FF15 however due to the fact that people may not want to keep re-visiting the game just to play a new segment, but least they are making content rather than locking it away.

And there really should be like a movement in the gaming communities in places like Reddit, 4chan, and dare I say even Neogaf (unless they really have fallen from grace) to stop this shady culture by simply refusing to pay for their games until it is like dirt cheap just to show the middle finger to them.

The con to this that it will hurt developer staff that made those games, but they've become too much of a accessory to the Business of Lies.

That stuff is tame if you play around with them, but the issue I deal with is narcissistic smart asses on game boards.

Definitely! People on here should see their TV shows on ROKU box, the women on there are super hot, surprisingly some of them are European/Asian mixed.

From what you're showing me, the fog distance was mostly changed.

From a technical standpoint, the use of that amount of fog can actually lower the FPS dramatically. This is really noticeable once you get toward the very end of the game when there is no fog at all. If I had to guess why they changed the fog distance was to help the FPS or else gamers would have complained about it back then. Considering they were using updated fog graphics, that would struggle on a console but definitely not a PC. Fog graphics back in the PS2 era was not that particular taxing for most games/consoles back then.

I wish non-developers (that be gamers, etc) would take these things into account but they never do, this is not a attack but there is a lot of ignorance as to why developers have to do make shortcuts like this, fog graphics nowadays however for PS4 etc shouldn't be a issue now as it is better hardware/software. Maybe next time they re-release they might add in more fog to be more akin to the PS2 version.

PS3/Xbox360 era really had shit hardware/software, I'm glad we got past that.

It's possible they tried to do too much graphically for Silent 2 HD when the PS3 can't process what they wanted due to mainly the fog, it would have better if it was PC exclusive first and then later ported like how the PS4 ports have been doing lately. I suspect there reason why so many old games are getting ported to the PS4 because the hardware/software is actually very good compared to how the PS3 handled ports due it's low budget hardware/software.

there is a fundamental misunderstanding of the characters from a direction standpoint that the original team did not have

I really didn't see much of a difference with the new voices deliveries except James mostly, this is stretching.

As for the HD version, I didn't play the pre-patch version (I knew better) but far as I can tell it was not that bad. The only issues I had with the game was the black levels of the darkness & the occasional fog wall that didn't look quite right.

I re-reviewed the comparisons, and for the most part the voice acting in my opinion was slightly better in comparison to the old ones. I never liked the old delivery voice lines of James as it did not sound natural at all but for every other character that the emotional complexity of each character almost remained the same, the only difference is just a different accent from the new voice actor/actress.

I really don't see where the complaints were coming from, Eddie for example still sound like a nut toward the end. Also having a more heavier voice is a bit more convincing due to his weight IMO.

Also from what I understand, Silent Hill Fans are never pleased with anything otherwise.

The character's fates are so sad, Angela's fate was really sad. I ended up getting the LEAVE ending, and I thought it was poetically beautiful how it all turned out in a bittersweet way.

I tried to play this game back when it was on the PS2, but I could never finish it most of the time. I actually don't quite remember if I actually did beat the original version of the game, been way too long and I can't remember if I did or not.

I will say this

I love the new voice acting, that was a huge improvement over the deadpan voice acting a long time ago.

Finished on EASY/EASY with Eight Stars, I wanted to play on Hard but saw no reason due to some locked trophies & other extra stuff that requires multiple play throughs.
