See, SHM can't even give a simple answer beyond "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE" when faced with a difficult (but obvious and basic) question.

How does one sit there with a working brain, knowingly ignore the most basic questions to their position, and STILL feel confident in their position? I don't get it at all. Don't you think it's a bit weird that you have to completely ignore arguments instead of just proving them wrong?

Hmm 1 hour difference for a 2 month thing... maybe do it over the phone. If you never use the phone, that's a pretty good signal for her of what's to come, so that softens the blow a bit. IM feels a bit weak.

Also, if the only reason you're breaking up is because you want a more sexual relationship, she might want to actually bargain something to make things work, which is easier on the phone than IM.

It does kinda make sense... I am not white, and though I was born in the US, neither of my parents were, and I have visited and lived in many other countries. And yet I STILL, no contest, find the US to be my home and the best place to live. I'm so unquestionably comfortable being an American by my own free will, I have absolutely 0 anxiety about it.

I imagine if I was born some rich white nerd in typical US suburbia, my entire identity molded by the rigid society I was confined to, maybe not even seeing a minority until after hitting puberty, not even getting a passport until adulthood, I might have some very deep and worrying anxiety about where I truly want to be. Is it just society and tradition that makes me "American", or do I truly identify as such? It's a hard question I really can't relate to at all, but I kinda get it.
