I beat it...

Why did the game end in London? x_x they talked up Rabi'ah the entire game, so I figured that's where the climax would be, but instead I'm saving a bunch of rich bastards from getting poisoned and exploded.

Oh well, I actually like Adam, and I'm looking forward to seeing his story conclude. This game was good, but the main plot fell flat. They shouldn't have talked up and hinted at so much stuff and then save it all for a sequel that will be years away. =/

Picked it up in the recent Steam Sale. I really like Deus Ex and Human Revolution, but this game kinda just came and went and I never really heard anything about it, so I feared maybe it wasn't very good. But, no, it's pretty damn good. The world building and moment-to-moment gameplay are top notch. I'm not exactly crazy about the story, though it started to pick up towards the middle. Steam says I have 30 hours put into it, and it's starting to feel like I'm approaching an ending.

I'm so excited for Mega Man 11 (and Legacy Collections 1 & 2 and X Collection on Switch!). I'm kind of glad they didn't the 8-bit style graphics again and went with more modern-styled graphics since 8-bit has been overdone (especially with MM9 & 10) and the gameplay and physics still remain as close to the original gameplay. As for story, I hope the game completes the gap between the classic and X series and introduces Zero and I would like to see what happens to Mega Man at the end of his era that leads up to the X series. If not this game, then maybe Mega Man 12.

I'm also happy that Legacy Collections 1 & 2 and a Mega Man X Collection (X1-X8) are coming to current-gen platforms including the Nintendo Switch (but excluding Wii U). I was sad that the Legacy Collections didn't come to Switch earlier but I'm happy they are still at least coming. I may have a PS4 and PC, but I'd much rather get all of these Mega Man games for the Nintendo Switch since Nintendo always felt a home to Mega Man (it's where Mega Man began) and because I'd love to play the Mega Man games anywhere.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see Capcom finally do something with Mega Man, but I still think the style is a bit on the ugly side.

You don't typically open trading cards or mystery toy boxes with the express purpose of making money, or profiting. Loot boxes are gambling because you are opening them specifically to get the good stuff, legendary skins in Overwatch, high level star cards in Battlefront, etc.

When you gamble, you stand to lose something. However, when you purchase a loot box, you always get rewarded with something. It may not be what you wanted but it's something. If the loot box was empty, then there's a problem.

If you're going to classify the loot box system as gambling, the you might as well consider those retail "mystery mini figures" boxes as gambling, too. Which would be stupid to do so.

By that logic I could open a casino, and every time somebody "loses" I hand them a Mars bar, and say that my customers aren't gambling because they got something. No government or court in the world would buy that argument.

Because they have no legal grounds? That's why Disney allowed EA to create a game for them, they can do whatever the hell they want with it (or whatever Disney said they could do).

Also you would need to prove that it effected sales, which is hell on wheels.

Battlefront II is synonymous with gambling at this point, something Disney really doesn't want to be involved with.

This is still an unprecedented development. Clearly EA is feeling the pressure. All the bad financial news and gambling controversy over the past few days is pushing them to do this. We've struck a nerve, and it's working. Even this temporary suspension of microtransactions can have a huge impact on game development for years. Consumers clearly have some power over the big publishers. And this means we can't stop now, we have to keep pushing to end this shit. Keep pressuring Disney, pressure the ESRB, hell, get the parents involved. EA was trying to scam their customers, and it exploded in their face. Various European countries are investigating the game for gambling, and EA knows it's gambling. Given that, and all the lost sales they can't afford to keep the current system. I don't know what they're going to replace it with, but it's likely to be not nearly as predatory. They can't be stupid enough to try this again so soon.
