The scripture you are using means that if a man and a woman have sex out of wedlock, then the guy automatically has to marry her no matter what and can never leave her. Even still, what does old law from millennia ago have to do with the law of today? Christians read the old testament, but follow the religion of the new testament as best as it fits in the world today. But even that does not define the laws we live by today as a nation. Free 2-day shipping is the entire reason I signed up for Prime in the first place so if they can't give me that benefit, then it's worthless to me. Today it happened again (an order that I was supposed to get today did not show up and has been delayed until tomorrow) so I got fed up and called them to find out why this keeps happening. They said it's "2 days from when the item ships" which is bullshit because I got an email after I placed my latest order saying it would be here today. Then I got an email about an hour ago saying it's been delayed by a day and won't arrive until tomorrow. The item didn't ship until yesterday so maybe if Amazon had shipped it when they were supposed to, this wouldn't keep happening. I told them to cancel and refund me the difference of unused time. Spoke to someone over live chat, then over the phone when I submitted poor feedback after disconnecting, then a manager. Out of the 3 people I spoke with, not one offered to do anything to compensate for the lack of service so I told them to cancel my membership. After several times of being told they can't do that, I finally got them to cancel and refund me. The weird part is that none of the people I spoke to made any effort whatsoever to talk me out of cancelling. I've placed 48 orders in the past 6 months, spent thousands of dollars with them, and they didn't seem to care in the slightest that they were losing a high spend customer. Most companies these days have entire departments dedicated to talking customers out of cancelling their services. Apparently Amazon is not one of them. --- |

When profits are up and expenditures are flat or in many cases down, that means that it isn't costing them more money to make the games. You can go read their quarterly reports to see this. Aside from when they buy out a smaller company, they are usually spending less and earning more. You're not wrong that a lot of gamers are cheap. But there's nothing wrong about that. It's smart to be frugal with your money. Especially on a time wasting hobby like video games. --- |

You're being idealistic in suggesting that the ISPs want to be able to charge you less. That's demonstrably false. They already have the opportunity to do this. They aren't going to lose out on profits for any reason. That's never how it shakes out for the corporations. They are in this to drive profits, and rightly so. But that comes at a cost to us. And they are never looking to save you money. You claim they can charge the people that use more bandwidth more money. They literally already do this with caps. They throttle during peak hours, and put data caps on customers. And when you go over the cap they charge by the GB. It is most certainly being idealistic and downright naive to think they are doing this to save you money. --- |
