DS would be the best in the series if it were on a console. But it's held back by the DS controls (and by extension, the lack of easily accessible multiplayer). The content in the game beats out every other one.

I hate that this is the defacto answer since it omits something important.

The 3DS version has 100 new levels in a new mode called Mario Challenge. There are 19 worlds each with their own themes such as springs or whatever. Some of the levels are really brilliant and do things a more traditional Mario game would never think of be it puzzles, gimmicks or high level of difficulty. Each level also has two missions which if completed will give you a medal. Missions vary and can be something like 'Don't press left at all' or 'collect all the coins using a shell'. It's pretty damn fun and I would love if other 2D Mario games had missions.

Ok but people didn't buy Mario Maker to play premade levels.

If they wanted to make creative platforming levels they should have made a separate game. People want a Mario Maker game to be Mario Maker.

I've done transactions where I keep the used gift cards off to the side until the customer leaves, literally just in case there is some post-transaction issue so I'll still have access to the cards. This guy held onto a card that, from his own mouth, was already used, yet as soon as he's questioned about the balance, says "here's the rest of your money, see ya".

If it were truly an accident, he would be operating under the impression that he had properly used the card, and would have re-checked it to confirm that he didn't use it like he thought he did.

I guarantee this guy has done this before and absolutely gotten away with it when the bill is something higher like 200 or 300 dollars. At that point it's harder to mentally add up the cost and realize $30 or whatever is missing.

Maybe I read it wrong but it sounded like the card was $30 originally. Bill was really $50 but cashier told them $80, then fake-used the card to "bring it down" to 50, then they paid the difference some other way.

Yeah the cashier is clearly stealing money in any case, but I'm confused on the exact sequence of events how this happened.

Yeah, there's actual plot in the 2 post-game modes.

Also I think that the spoiler mode is the best part of the whole game and it's an amazing standalone experience, mainly due to the mechanics. It's also a great speedrun style game if you're into that, because the game tracks your total completion time and even your best level segments, so you can keep replaying it.

Ultra Space is just... some space in between wormholes. In Sun you went through one wormhole (in a cutscene) and came out in Nihilego's world. In this game every UB has their own world, plus there's another world where humans have built a city, all of which you can visit. You can also fly through Ultra Space and go through different wormholes yourself, like Soaring in ORAS.
