I dont think ever honestly. Men age too and while they generally date younger, a 50 year old man will still have the hots for a 40 year old woman.

Theres a woman on my team in her early 40s. Shes very attractive. Men stare at her all the time.

Agreed. Its awful and tragic, so it creates a visceral emotional response. But its a blip on the screen compared to the real threats out there. You have something like a 1/15,000 odds of dying in a mass shooting. But a 1/7 chance of dying from heart disease. I dont see calls for banning fast food restaurants or junk food though. We continue to stuff our faces with chips and soda and cookies.

Harpie, Kanaya, Im so sorry...

Harpie, you are 18 right? Is there anyone you can stay with? Do you plan on leaving soon? Do you work? Are you almost done with school? You need to get out of there. No one has the right to raise their hand on you. Id even say you should call the cops on him next time but I dont know what your exit strategy is.

Feel free to PM anytime if you need advice or just want to vent.

And yeah my mom used to verbally abuse me too because I reminded her of my dad.

Edit: to answer your question, were all pretty close now. They act all normal and like nothing happened. But I moved far away and only see them once a year maybe. My mom has matured a lot since then. My brother is mostly better but still has had a couple of violent relapses over the years. I havent been there to witness them thankfully.

Yup. For my little cousins, I go on Amazon to do Christmas shopping. The prices are way cheaper than other retail stores. And they get delivered to me. Theres zero incentive to have to drive, find parking, deal with huge crowds and long lines.

My childhood was all kinds of fucked up. But I think my late teens/early twenties were the worst.

Luckily it got better for me once I passed 15 years old. Now it's like once every week or two that my dad rages

What happened during your late teens?

When you say your dad rages, are you talking physically or verbally?

Once I was old enough to go out, date, be more independent, my brother and my mom tried to do everything to control me. I had strict curfews (10 pm). I was beat pretty often for petty shit. I was not allowed to go to any guys house. They would stalk me to make sure I was studying and control how often I played video games. I was not allowed to go on any trips with friends. Mind you, I was doing exceptionally well at school, I never did any drugs and I barely drank. I didnt date many guys. I was a classic good girl and I was still abused.

In my early 20s, I rebelled a lot and talked back which got me more beatings. Sometimes my dad would come over too (my parents are divorced) just to yell at me or slap me for talking back to my brother. One time I simply told my brother to fuck off because he barged into my room and stole my laptop at 2 am (he kept getting viruses on my laptop which I used for school). He beat the crap out of me that night and spit on me. My brother is 511 180lbs, Im 52 and I was barely 100 lbs. My dad drove to our house in the middle of the night just to slap me for daring to say the word fuck. Nice girls dont say fuck. Mind you, he didnt say shit about my brother beating me, it was justified because I said fuck. I was 23 then.

I didnt move out until I was 25. I was threatened regularly that if I tried moving out before getting married, they would beat the shit out of me or kill me. In my culture, women stay at home with their parents until they marry. They think only sluts move out before then and that I would shame them. Of all the girls I know in my culture, Im the only one I know who moved out before marriage. I had enough. Now I moved thousands of miles away. Im married now so they dont care what I do anymore and they act all normal.

Its funny because they never physically abused me as a child at all.

Does this make you feel like more of a man?

Not at all. I had a few before I felt like a so called "man". What makes me feel like a "man" is being a father and a great provider for my girls. Most men don't drive 2 and a half hours to work to provide. I have these guns for my own personal use and safety. Again, I'd rather have them and never need them. I got two freezers full of food I put on the table, I killed, skinned and processed all that meat, both by hunting and fishing.

What makes me feel like a man is being a father and a husband. I don't measure my manhood by the calibers in my arsenal but on my character. It may not be a lifestyle you agree with and so be it. I'm not alive to impress or raise you, I'm here for me and my girls.

You keep bringing up not looking like a super model, as if you're offended over something somebody said... >_>

I'm not offended at all. I'm very comfortable with my looks.

But in all my years of CE, it's always been the same. A girl posts a pic, and for every compliment she gets, there has to be a guy to negate it. They make it their life's mission.

"Meh, she's ok"
"*Insert other girl* is way hotter*
"I've seen way hotter"

Etc.

The supermodel thing cracks me up because who needs to point out the obvious?

I just don't see the big deal in complimenting people and making them feel good about themselves. I compliment good looking guys all the time.
