Yeah there's no real way to completely gate it. I mean, online yeah. But fighting games are not very good online and are played in person.

I actually like the new trend of just charging a lot more for any future expansions upfront. I mean, it sucks paying that $80-100 right away for content you don't have but I think it makes more sense for the business and the consumer.

ehh its a nice option, but lets just keep it a option. take injustice for example. if it wasn't for the black lightning skin I probably wouldn't be interested in getting raiden at all. it would bug me not having all fighters. but I felt the game went overboard on guest characters particularly MK related, and I think I would have decided to vote with my wallet about that.

cosmetic dlc is also never considered a must have by most anyone. it does nothing to enhance, the gameplay or story of the game. just a visual change. yeah i'd rather not have to pay for them. but I hate having to buy new characters in a game far more.

There's actual effort put into making new characters, unless it is clear they were already made on release and then held from the final disc. That's worth something. I don't like when it is not gated (like when those with the characters are allowed to play those that don't have them) but otherwise it's not bad to ask gamers for money for post development that took manhours and labor.

When you talk about certain cosmetic stuff though... it's like, yeah I'm sure time went into it, but you're just being so petty for charging for it and you're creating divisions with the people buying your games. Suddenly a game that is egalitarian has those with rags and those with finery. And all because they want to make like a 95% profit and they know they can play off of this outside "keeping up with the Jones" human nature. It's just annoying to me.

I understand work goes into things. doesn't change the fact it bugs me. at least in fighting games, I hate not having all the characters in a fighting game. only way I make myself feel better about it is remind myself that back in the day streetfighter would add new characters by just re releasing the same game with some minor tweaks and a few new characters and charging full price.

Because nobody gave a fuck about the Mii costumes. They were by far the least popular characters in the game. Nintendo probably lost the $5 it cost them to program them in the first place and that's punishment enough.

Huh? Cosmetic DLC is something I consistently see regarded as an acceptable use of DLC. People just hate pay2win or locked on-disc content

Cosmetic DLC sucks because it takes virtually nothing for them to add to the game yet it is charged for and all it does is put borders between the players based on ability or willingness to pay.

cosmetic dlc is also never considered a must have by most anyone. it does nothing to enhance, the gameplay or story of the game. just a visual change. yeah i'd rather not have to pay for them. but I hate having to buy new characters in a game far more.

as for smash though none of the new characters felt like must haves. I bought most all of them, but I had money to blow at the time. never got corrin though and likely never will.

Well mario is the poster boy for nintendo, so it eould only make sense that he be the poster boy for the game that includes nintendos iconic characters.

To answer the original question, I guess I'd have to go with Metroid if we're not counting spin offs. Kinda a hard choice tbh

If smash counts, I'd go with that.

I guess at this point i'd be fine thinking of smash as its own thing. for a spin off it got extremely popular to the point of rivaling if not surpassing some of the major series' it represents.

The definition of "Replay Value" kinda changed over the years. I remember people saying that Mario 3 had a ton of Replay value, because it's fun to play again. But nowadays replay value is measured in tricky achievements and grindier activities that you wouldn't ever do a second time.

I still go with the older definition I never knew it changed. just recently played and beat the original kid icarus for the first time. since then i've beat it 4 more times. so to me it had good replay value.

games that have a lot of content and take a long time to beat, generally don't have much replay value to me, as I see replaying the whole game as a daunting task as i've already experienced it. like I tried replaying metal gear solid V from scratch I ended up getting bored half way through(and I loved that game so much I put 1000 hours into my first file). elder scrolls is an exception as there is many ways to go about things differently, different races, and classes to choose from. so many things that make each play a bit different.

basically put when I think "replay" I think starting from the beginning and doing it all over again. or even just a game I will be throwing back in the disc tray on a regular basis despite i've already beaten it.

i've never gotten all the hearts in a zelda without help. but i've never been a completionist anyways, and have never needed all the hearts to win. so basically I lack the motivation to try.

playing that game currently. it requires some fast reflexes in some parts. and lots of hidden items, though its more forgiving on being able to find those than past 2D metroid games.

no easy mode though. and you take a lot of damage from being hit.

i'd say its harder than a zelda game.

i've never played a lego game but I can't fathom it being harder than zelda. maybe it will be a bit much for him. I only struggled with some puzzles but mostly finding hidden things when I was that age.

as for the sprayings they make you go through it. for a prison guard at least in my state, to be allowed to carry pepper spray/mace they first have to endure being sprayed with it themselves.

I've only moved twice in my life and once was for a job and the other one was to a different country to get married. I don't regret either. The thing about moving away from your friends is, unless you come from one of the country's major metropolitan areas, you're going to need to either move away or settle when it comes to your career. That is, unless you either have extremely low aspirations, or get very, very lucky and a major company in your industry that you want to work for just so happens to have the exact job you want in your home town available for you.

It's kind of an inevitably of life that old friends grow apart. However, if they are real friends, they'll always be down to party when you're in town to visit. You'll make new friends wherever you move, and it's best to just embrace change, because it's either going to happen anyway, or you'll probably regret not taking the opportunity when you're older.

guess my group of friends was a rarity. I moved a lot growing up but due to family being in that area always managed to end up back in that town. known one kid since he was 4, we still talk all the time despite living in different states and when money allows us we hang out. and the others from that group, though i've made it clear I'm not interested in keeping our friendship they keep trying. we all grew up in the same neighborhood.

yeah in some cases of kids being extremely sheltered they lose their shit when out in the real world finally. either they can't handle the pressures or life or they go balls to the wall with their newfound freedom and make a lot of bad decisions. my mom knew a guy who died because of that. as soon as he hit 21 and moved out of his parents house he was getting shitfaced every night, and was dead in 2 weeks due to drunk driving.

Technically they're equally replaceable in the most basic sense. It just takes a bit longer and is more expensive to replace the kid.

you cant replace the memories the kid shared with his/her parents.

Nor can you replace the memories the children resulting from those embryos would have. Both would be unique, thus making both equally replaceable.

those memories never happened. nothing to replace. just something that could have been, and not what has been. point being is someone somewhere has likely formed a bond with that child, and would be far more upset of their loss than the loss of "what could have been"

By that logic, no woman who miscarries should be sad about the miscarriage because it was a potential child instead of a child. I invite you to tell that to any would-be expectant parents' faces who just lost their unborn child.

isn't there some kind of medical reason why they get all depressed in those cases. it does something to them biologically speaking? I could be wrong on that, health class was a Looong time ago for me. also my grandmother miscarried 3 kids, she was upset about it for awhile but she did get over it. I doubt she would have gotten over losing the one she did actually have.

to be fair though everyone is different and handles things differently on a mental level. proof being all those women who willingly get abortions. some it doesn't phase at all. some it makes a bit sad but they just felt it was for the best.

Troll Synth doesn't seem to understand that there are countless poor men out there with large dicks who haven't somehow got improved their finances because of it.

yeah porn industry only exists in so many places in this country, and i'll be damned if I move to california. i'd rather go to prison.

Psh, this is the internet age, anyone with a webcam can become a porn star and make a living doing it. Hell, if you have a big member and aren't disgusted with the thought of guys getting off to you getting off you can probably make more money then most female cam girls.

Why would you ever think that? Even if there are gay men out there as thirsty as the pathetic goons that buy out Amazon wish lists for pornstars there's way less of them than their straight counterparts.

Not really. There are probably just as many if not more, and they don't have a lot of options. Talk to any male pornstar and they will tell you that the real money is in gay porn.

yeah to the point there have been porn stars who have claimed to be "gay for pay" otherwise where straight they claimed.

I didn't vote at all, but I would save the kid. This is just designed to pull on the emotions of people you know are already emotional about situations like this. While also mocking those making the choice, as if one option discredits the other, when they realistically have nothing to do with each other.

This question absolutely eviscerates their arguments, and their refusal to answer confirms that they know it to be true.

Choosing to save the child, who is conscious of the situation, is feeling fear, and crying for help does not invalidate the belief that the embryos are alive and valuable themselves.

pro abortion here. and I kind of have to agree, not that I find they have any value worth saving in a scenario like this. just the fact its unfair to say one thing doesn't matter at all when the other is clearly going to take priority to almost anyone.

it would almost be like asking a person if they had to choose between saving their childs life or their pets life which would they choose. though thats a rougher decision imo.(still would go with the kid, but it would break my heart so much more than this supposed scenario)

Most of the Time: Nightmares that are a nightmare to me, not because of what it's about but for the fact I wake up to reality afterwards.

you mean like having a dream thats just so perfect then you wake up and realize it wasn't real? yeah had a few of those put me in a bad mood for a day.

Exactly.

the only one I remember (though I know i've had multiple), is me meeting the most beautiful girl, ending up dating her, then marrying her, sex, dates and all those things. the dream just seemed to last forever which made it harder to face the fact it was just a dream when I woke up. and it came at a time in my life I was deeply depressed.

Bloody hell sometimes I forget how long it has been since some series started.

time sure does fly when you never payed attention to said series. though to be fair anytime I hear about how long the simpsons have around it makes me feel ancient. even though they started slightly before I was born I think. or around the time of.

Oh, so this was just a topic to fuel your political agenda.

Who can help it if the entire Republican party is just a heaping pile of nonsense?

Half the time we mock nonsense it instantly becomes political.

i'd say both sides are a heaping pile of nonsense. both sides are pretty bad at claiming they believe in free speech but the moment you disagree with them. the extremes of both sides are pretty bad

for the ones i've seen

BvS dawn of justice. aside from a few complaints I enjoyed it.

Guardian of the Galaxy:pretty damn good, first "super hero" movie I liked without having a fucking clue who they where beforehand. unless you count hancock or constatine, but I don't consider the latter a super hero

john wick. pretty good. i'd say amazing if you are just watching it simply for the action. but I just say pretty good as I have managed to forget a lot of plot points and really only know the general idea of the plot.
