A single steak costs as much as three pounds of ground beef. If SNAP cut out prepackaged foods then the money people get would stretch a lot further and would in general be healthier. Wouldnt sugar and cake/brownie mix also count as luxuries? If you wanna get that pedantic then technically everything is a luxury except potatoes with a small amount of salt and butter in them.
