Th problem is guaranteeing that whoever's in power has meeting the needs and interests of the people as their goal.

Benevolent kings do this, but how to make sure your king is good? Let the people pick the king, obviously they wouldn't elect anyone that would harm them.

How could that go wrong? Simple. Power tends to aggregate, groups form around the goal of gaining power for power sake. You end up with a corrupt system that serves only to perpetuate itself.

I believe the power of choice, so easily corrupted, should be taken away. Let the king be chosen by lot. Short, temporary terms. A pressing issue needing an immediate response? A random citizen can be asked their response and that can be acted upon.

Idiots and the self centered will still be placed in power under my proposed system, but their influence would be drowned out by sheer statistics.

Use it to make cola. It'll sell.

If you used every atom in the universe to build a device to simulate a universe, even using the best possible engineering imaginable, your device wouldn't have enough processing to simulate at a 1:1 ratio.

You'd have to pull some trickery like having really large scales behave differently to how really small scales act, or not store the exact properties of particles if they aren't being observed.

Pretty sure it's spelled like the latter but said like the former. Like how "Kuykendahl" is spelled... the way it is; but it's pronounced "Ker-ken-doll"

Which is the correct spelling and what is the difference?

I'm trying to write a short story, and the internet is giving me conflicting or confusing answers, so maybe ya'll can weigh in.

The character is putting a tool away carried in one of several pouches sewn to a long leather sash worn over the shoulder and across his chest, tucked at the opposite hip.

The websight I looked at makes the distinction based on whether ammunition or grenades are stored on it on how you spell it, but that isn't useful. Any thoughts?

I saw it as just part of his 'appeal'. The pure chaos and destruction he represented were powered by narcissism and idiocy. Admittedly I overestimated the damage he would do, but the after shocks are far from over.

That wasn't the only reason, though. The other feasibly electable candidates, Jeb and Hillary, were both from political dynasties, which I despise on principle.

Create an army of perfectly lifelike magical constructs. Capture Batman and take him to a secure area, like a remote island or moonbase, staffed mostly by your constructs. Proceed to have them attack him in increasing numbers and with greater lethality, with the first few easy knockouts leading to 'accidental' self destructions.

Then you need to taunt him about just making more, until he begins using kill shots. Then you add the real humans to the fray. Unfortunately the writer decided Batman can see through the plan, because he can, but it sounds solid otherwise.

Depends on the group. I've been in games where high dice and rule of cool were all that mattered as well as at tables that bog down because the pally wants to grapple a ghost and the DM cross references spiked armor versus automatic miss chances.

There are interviews that show that at least some diversity casting is done to score political points. They claim to want to anger 'the bigots'. Seems kinda counterproductive to treat POC and other under represented groups as a bludgeon instead of as real people.

There should be representation on tv and in movies, absolutely. It's more entertaining when characters stand out from each other or have lessons to teach each other.

Having read a lot of the threads on 261 over a period of years, I can say with confidence that it was an incredibly vile place full of the worst kind of dogpiling, name calling, and targeted harassment. Any dissent from the popular opinion was greeted with calls of Trumper, alt, and bought account.

AMP and karma both were used as convenient excuses to treat a user as subhuman, and the behavior was celebrated by the community.

These may be good people, but their behavior was, is, and is likely to contine being completely unacceptable in any civil discussion.

I let them spawn in a layer of water contained by signs, then take lethal fall damage over a collection platform patrolled by hopper minecarts.

Drainage took days but unlimited sea lanterns was pretty nice.

That's pretty impressive. Like I had mentioned, those guardian farms look very unapproachable just because of the effort involved in draining everything. That's cool that you managed to set one up. Did you use soul sand in a tank system to direct them over edges to their deaths?

I once emptied the monument itself and made it my base when they first appeared in-game and that seemed like a big enough task for me, much less draining the entire ocean for sure.

How did you manage getting in and out if you didn't clear a perimeter? That debuff the little guys shoot was pretty annoying. Did you keep a cow in a boat nearby for easy milk access? Bessie was my constant companion during construction.

I built a guardian farm once. Draining the ocean took forever. Never tried the new gold farms but i put one of the old portal frame farms up, years ago. Honestly both were unnecessary as I only play solo and only built them for completion sake.

I think my biggest project was right before they expanded the y coordinate I dug out (most of) a perimeter for a creeper farm, but never finished because it just wasn't worth it compared to a simple dark room spawner.
