What would Democrats, the minority party in the House, do?

Heineken14 posted...
That's right. You go in there and you make it about Democrats!

While TC here has a gimmick of constantly bashing Democrats, right or wrong, isn't there a case of some blame to be made towards them for not being aggressive enough on calling this out, being too soft on Republicans in general for years, and Biden making a super weak appointment of the DOJ in regards to Merrick Garland?

What a (word you can't say here). I feel certain people like her feel their group has the right to do whatever they want, no matter how horrible, because of the past. It's almost like they feel entitled to it.

I'm not even saying this to justify people owning AR15s or anything, but my question is if say Republicans take over the country and start rounding up and executing people, should Americans just sit there and let it happen because of APCs and drones and such? I just don't care for that "well the government will just drone strike your house so any resistance is useless" way of thinking.

2A fanatics always talk about their guns "protecting them from the government" yet are strangely silent about actual tyrannical practices such as gerrymandering, voter suppression and fraud, book banning and even attempts to usurp a fair election.

They're full of shit.

This is the main thing about conservative gun owners and why we should trash them and not the idea of fighting an oppressive government in and of itself.

The conversation I was having was about Jericho in general. A spin off from the specific Punk conversation. How he's he total chud and that his trans support is all talk and how I have issues with so many fans acting hypocritically and making excuses for him and others because they're beloved. I already said it most likely had nothing to do with it.

How are the goalposts being moved? Please explain how one can be supportive of transgender people while supporting, voting for, signal boosting, and donating to a party that wants them all dead? If this were a WWE wrestler or someone like Eric Bischoff or Jim Cornette who talked about supporting trans rights and it was found out they donated to the Trump campaign this conversation wouldn't be happening. It would be agreed they were liars and hypocrites. It goes back to what I said earlier where independent and AEW wrestlers beloved by the IWC get free passes.

But donating to Trump shows it's all talk. There's no way to be an ally and a Trump supporter. His actions outweigh any words.

It doesn't have any weight considering Jericho's gone to bat for Nyla Rose many times.

Jericho knows how to stay popular with fans. He knows he can't be anti-trans openly. There's no way one can vote Republican and for Trump and support trans people. I'd bet good money he's not actually an ally.

I don't think it's the reason either or if it was any part of it, it was extremely minor. With Jericho he was probably more worried about keeping his cushy spot. I also don't like certain people giving him a pass over his politics.

I can't say I know his position on trans rights, but Jericho has recently been supportive of gay rights and Anthony Bowens coming out publicly. Don't forget AEW has a high level trans athlete competing on their shows.

To be fair, most white men his age, especially coming out of a sports family and upbringing are fairly conservative. His wife is the real right wing freak apparently, hopefully the influence of her politics over him has limits.

Jericho was one of the ones that openly spoke up defending Gisele Shaw during the whole Rick Steiner issue, so despite everything else, he seems pretty decent, there.

His support and donations to the Trump campaign nullifies all of this. He had Don Jr. on his podcast too.

If Jack was on a construction site..and he was about to do something stupid. And a 20 year vet said hey dont do that. Do you think ppl would care he isn't the boss.

Depends on if the All Elite Construction fans and Don Millner of the Construction Observer Newsletter like the vet or not.

If The Young Bucks were the ones who told Perry not do stupid shit with real glass, all the users in this topic furious at Punk would be praising them up the arse and using it as an example of how intelligent and brilliant the Bucks are.

"The Bucks are good vets who know when to tell a talent when to hold back for their own safety. That's why they're the best in the business" or something like that. The same ones who are happy that wrestlers today don't listen to the old fuddy duddy vets who haven't evolved.

People get stuck in the mindset of "I like X, so everything they do is perfect" "I dislike Y, so everything they do is awful"

They are no longer nuanced and complicated.

It's a big problem everywhere now, but it's been a big one in wrestling for a long time.

I kinda feel the opposite TBH XD

I feel like everyone wants to blame Punk for half the AEW roster acting like Children and Tony doing nothing about it.

Punk deserves blame, Hangman deserves blame, The Elite Deserve blame, probably a whole bunch of people we don't know publically deserve blame.

But most of all, Tony deserves blame. The buck (no pun intended) stops with him and he let the Lunatics run the aslyum for years. It made him look terrible and unprofessional.

Remember when Alberto Del Rio punched out a dude in catering? Vince didn't give him a paid suspension and then put the world title on him.

But Vince did bring him back over a year later for a 2nd chance when things had blown over.

That's how you do it. That's what should have happened to The Bucks, Perry and Punk.

Pretty much this. Punk acted immature and shitty, but he wasn't the only one. The average independent and AEW fan has always had the mindset of "it's ok when my favorites do it". Absolute cringeworthy and embarrassing wrestlers, matches, or spots are bad when WWE does them but with everyone else it's comedy wrestling and you hate fun if you dare criticize it. I remember so many fans defending Joey Ryan's dick spot when it was embarrassing and problematic at the time. These fans ignore their favorites' horrible political views as well like the Bucks hating Obama and calling him a socialist and especially Chris Jericho being a huge Trumper who had Don Jr. on his podcast and donated money to the Trump 2020 campaign.
