I dont think you misinterpreted the word so much as we may not have the same connotations for words. To me, selfish is like, to the point of disregarding others to benefit yourself. Like, no concern for what happens to other due to concern only for yourself. Whereas how I meant self-involved was moreso only thinking of yourself as a default, basically blind to things that dont impact your own life or interests. I was leaning more towards not taking interest in things outside ones own realm, if that makes sense.

Made me laugh when it took my restaurant over a week from application for them to call me to interview when I knew they were short staffed af. But part of that means its hard to figure out when theres time to actually get back to people/conduct interviews (still really dumb tho)

Absolutely false- in almost all skilled industries.
Some places have policies that the job posting has to be up for a specific length of time, that they have to interview everyone qualified that applied (even if the decision was already made up in the managers mind).
Some people are authorized to hire within a certain budget, so if salary is discussed, they might have to take it back for approval. Sometimes the person interviewing is not the final say, so they have to compile second round applicant lists for who ever is.
Even in the restaurant industry, about half of my employers have required two interviews despite telling me at the end of the interview that theyll recommend hiring me to their boss.

Oddly enough I watched this last night before going to sleep. He only interviewed 6-8 women (or at least that's what was used), still it was rather surprising how only 2 at most said yes it's still cheating.

The ones who said no seemed far more concerned about their boyfriends having actual feelings for another woman/them meeting a new woman who could replace them as the girlfriend. And since prostitutes = just sex they prefer that scenario. Some of them even said they'd prefer the bf be open about it instead of hiding it.

While its def cheating, on my list of what kind of cheating would hurt me the most, sex workers are at the bottom. I could see myself agreeing to letting a SO use one every once in awhile, as long as its not taking too much money from important things, hes safe about it, doesnt lie or expect it to bring about a relationship with the girl.

In-school suspension or out-of-school suspension for anywhere from a week to a month. Police notified, any further incidence leads to expulsion hearing and sexual harassment charges filed. Police talk to students about the severity of their actions.

Students involved are removed from sports/extracurriculars and classes relocated where applicable.

Students involved are not allowed to have phones on campus, for the rest of the year or even the rest of High School. Parents may be required to moderate/delete student social media accounts as part of deal to stay with school.

Retaliation towards victims either at school or on social media will be seen as further harassment and leads to expulsion hearings.

These are all examples of actions my district have taken in similar situations. Expulsion is usually the ultimatum and not the first response (unless a student is severely harmed or threatened, which in this case I do not personally think they are since no nudity was involved). These actions from the school include harsh consequences for the perpetrators and create a safer environment for the victims while avoiding negative externalities that can come with expulsion. But expulsion is still on the table if anything else happens (continuation or retaliation).

Thank you, I think this is the type of explanation most of us needed to hear since many of us are far removed from the purview of the education system. And as weve noticed, different punishments illicit different views of severity which is probably influenced by our own experiences/school climates.

Sure, but at no point in that scenario should the school enact disciplinary actions as no violations happened on school grounds. At best, that would necessitate the boys and victims be separated from any shared classes. Your actions outside of school and school functions, are beyond the purview of the school.

I agree that this is a good teaching moment for all involved. I'm just baffled by the idea that a school should have any authority to enact punishment over activities outside of their domain. Discipline should be at the parents discretion. The possibility of no punishment is not a reason for the school to intervene in a parents authority.

If you make racist comments as an adult and it gets back to your employer, they have every right to fire you. If you go to college and are arrested- on or off grounds, there is the possibility of expulsion.
while I understand these are kids, that doesnt excuse them from being bound by a code of conduct, which is VERY real, even outside school hours.

ngl, as many here have suggested: de-stigmatized yourself to it. Practice makes perfect. Sit with yourself, even if that just
looks like taking your clothes off while you shit before you shower, or when you sit in bed on your phone before sleeping. Its a very comfortable state if you let it be.

Absolutely. Apathy is a disgusting quality, regardless of gender, but in my experience apathy from men is general laziness. Its easier not to think about it, look into it, care about it, actively stand up for it, advocate for it, support and nurture it, promote it, witness its success, allow success to come to fruition, allow the person to reap the rewards of that success.
Basically they are so generally self involved that nothing can be followed beginning to end other than maybe video games or music albums.

While on one hand, I really want to say throw the book at them specifically because sneaky pics were taken, used, exchanged, etc without consent. Like many are saying, this is a big deal. This is the age me and many of my friends became sexually active- and letting behavior like this just get a slap in the wrist is a risky way to allow boys just beginning to act sexually with women think that this kind of thing is normal and women dont need to have their privacy or boundaries respected.
However, and I ABSOLUTELY hate that I even have to consider this- even moreso than don't ruin their lives over it, I am worried that expulsion would plant a seed of misogyny in this group of impressionable boys. Because you know there would be objections from the community, the parents, etc and thats just going to make the boys feel like theyre being severely punished for something obviously not that bad and that is just women sensationalizing things or some bullshit. It may result in them taking this injustice out on women for the rest of their lives. I hate hate hate that that is where my mind goes, but I think its better to do something slightly less severe that wont make so many vocally object, but also harsh enough they know its serious. Idk where that lands with modern school punishments

Ive worked with some younger adults in the last few years and it really just depends. If theyre more towards the 18-21 range I see things far more endearingly. Above that, theres a little more relatability but I kinda just shake my head at most things they say/do.
Ultimately Im not like, hanging out with really anyone under 26ish regularly. Itd probably just give me a headache.

I do think its a thing that should be agreed to (or protested to) well before its about to happen, which also means sharing that opinion with the best [man/woman].
I personally only have a problem if its the night before (I know thats a traditional time for it but). I just dont want him to show up to our wedding looking like shit, covered in sparkles, and smelling like booze. Other than that, no issue with strip clubs/strippers.
