Just not the amount it's currently at, and it needs to be divided better.
The general consensus is that there is too much waste.
So yeah, better allocation of funds and less wasteful action would directly lead to a lowered military budget.

Now, you might want to talk to the military contractor lobbyists about that as well but... that's a whole 'nother issue

But you left out my other complaint. Why does America screw over its vets?
That's a very fair question to ask.
And given the immense bloated defense budget, you'd think they could provide more.
That's true.

I didn't leave it out so much as just not address it because it didn't need addressing.
does make me think I'd like to know which countries are providing the best veterans support tho

other countries can afford not to have a bloated military budget because they don't provide defense for other countries like we do

you people realize how much europe outsources their war materiel? their supplies their training their troops? their defensive strategy is "hold out until america saves the day" and you know it

Personally I always think about how Tokyo barely has any trash cans on the streets while there is also barely any street garbage.

That's cultural. People as a society saying "I will hold onto my trash and throw it out responsibly in order to maintain social order"
Their concept of social responsibility is MAGNITUDES stronger than any American sense of "social responsibility"

I wish we had that. That level of consideration to others in public, civic and social responsibility taken seriously by MOST of the populace

Panda Express has some god-tier meats but the rice and noodles are tasteless muck, so it averages out to be kinda okay.
actually i consider their chow mein to be top tier

it's exactly what you want in a chow mein
it's not supposed to be overly flavorful since you're supposed to balance your salty veg and meat with the noodles/rice

it's a well made chow mein. whether or not people like that is more subjective, imo.

the exception to this is when they grab too much cabbage and barely any noodles

Panda Express has such a simplistic and limited menu compared to the rest of what Chinese food has to offer that it's kind of ridiculous to say that it represents the best Chinese cuisine has to offer. It's like saying that Taco Bell has a better menu than other Mexican restaurants.
It's American Chinese food.
In a way that Taco Bell is NOT even Tex-Mex or Mexican

Did that make sense

I mean, if you're comparing Panda Express to your bottom of the barrel, delivery-only Chinese food place with an 800 menu item and a name like "Tso's number one", then sure. Just the fact that they cook the food in smaller batches and doesn't sit in a giant vat all day means it's going to taste fresher.
that's most of them across the entire contiguous united states of america 48 states

*in America
Aside from the taste of the actual food is the advantage of consistency
It always tastes good, the way you remember, every time. And that's obviously the advantage of being a fast food chain.

Lets also get into the fact that most of their food is cooked with a better preparation (even if it is frozen), is less greasy, and honestly tastes cleaner and better than a LOT of Chinese places in America.

That all being said, obviously the best Chinese places shit eggs on Panda Express. But most Chinese places serve worse food than Panda Express for much more on the dollar.

"B-b-b-but it's not authentic! You're not getting the real Chinese food experience!"
First of all, "authentic" Chinese food is almost unpalatable to most Americans. In fact, there is no "Chinese" food in China because they would have regional variations and cuisines, not a single unified cuisine. You have Hunan food, Sichuan food, Beijing food, Hong Kong food - but not Chinese food. Similar to Italian cuisine. Second of all that "authentic" Chinese food that YOU'RE thinking of was invented in the USA and Panda Express has some of the best variations on them.

Fight me about it.

The idea in a nutshell is that when advancing through the same company there may be a pay structure where you only get a percentage of your last salary as a raise however many new responsibilities you take on, which can leave you falling way behind what they'd pay an external hire to secure them to the position . But doing it every year just sounds like a headache and will raise red flags. Plus you might find a position with great benefits/culture and risk switching into unknown garbage
Thanks for putting that down in a succinct way. I wasn't sure how to explain that aspect.

As for the yearly job change, well, I am no longer doing that. I realized I can't keep doing it now that I'm not working an entry level job.

I find it hard to believe that that wouldnt be an extremely obvious thing for them to acknowledge, and also you openly going wherever pays the most. They do not want to invest time, effort and money training a guy they know will be quitting in less than a year. Unless youre in a field that doesnt require any training and has a ton of applicants all the time like truck drivers.

This is only my experience. Maybe I got lucky.

BTW just because I waited 9 to 12 months to start looking, doesn't mean I would find something right away. It took months sometimes or a life event occurring to make me pull the trigger on a job interview.

A year in entry level jobs is PLENTY of time. In fact, as a hiring manager now, someone having a job at only one place for 3 to 5 years without any progression would actually be a minor red flag. Yeah you can keep showing up for 5 years, but if you're not showing progression with it, it could be a weakness for you. You gotta show SOMETHING.

and that's a good reason why you put accomplishment on your resume, not just your job description
