What's the etymology of 'dungeon' in JRPGs, like what game started that? I have to imagine the word came from the fact that games made intentionally grueling gauntlets to increase cart play time

Probably came from the genre's roots of D&D, although I'm sure some influential game named all of its dungeons "x's dungeon" or something like that.

The Dreamcast was dead on arrival, but it was sunk by Sega making every horrendous decision it possibly could.
