Early 00's anime looked relatively bad until they actually got good with all the new digital technology. (Until around '05 or '06?) There's still plenty of great shows, but that whole era really stands out for subpar visuals.

Our only way to fix it is to completely stamp out any ember of Trumpism to the point that Rs realize it will never be successful again. Then maybe they can pivot to a new idea which includes actual conservative economics.

Problem: Trumpism may not be a long-term winning strategy for Republicans, but conservative economics is even more unpopular. If the GOP ever drops the culture war stuff and focuses on right-wing economic ideas instead, they'll get killed every election.

For some reason this was never marketed as such, but Studio Mir is indeed behind this (Korra).

Nobody cares about studios for US animation unless it's from a Japanese studio that worked on a famous anime. This is obviously stupid, but explains why Mir wouldn't be a big selling point.

This is the start I remember, but the next part was "Shoot him with a .44, no more purple dinosaur." It's crazy how many different versions there are of that song.

Of course they don't. Constantly redoing character designs to show children growing realistically is incredibly difficult. I can barely think of any shows that even try it.

Gushers commercials were awesome. Totally convinced me to ssk for Gushers repeatedly even though they weren't that good.

You're acting as if these are the only possible scenarios in which one should be excited about a remake which is just incomprehensible to me. Why would I not be excited about seeing a new take on a classic story that I love?

You're allowed to feel however you want. I'm just saying I don't see much that interests me. Based on the preview, they'll be covering material from the old anime, bringing back the old cast, and using fairly similar art and music. There's not much of a "new take" being promised.

Remaking S&W makes more sense from a business perspective, but what exactly is there to look forward to? This isn't a case where the old anime made massive changes to the source plot or has bad/outdated production values.

California, Texas, Florida, and New York combined have about 1/3 of the population of the US. If we went to pure popular vote I'm pretty sure 90% of campaigning and major campaign platforms would be central to those states.

Yeah, the EC definitely forces candidates to focus on a wider audience. Instead of the one-third of Americans in those states, the actual 2024 campaigns will focus almost entirely on AZ/GA/MI/NC/NV/PA/WI. That's almost one-fifth of the population, and we all know five is more than three. That's clearly more democracy right there.

Does it? I assume most of their campaigning in swing states would focus on those states' major cities. It lets them ignore plenty of other heavily populated regions, but it doesn't force them to cater to rural areas in particular.
