If anything that would cause republicans to pass more bad laws just so they can say "see those Democrats in California and New York are trying punish you for having your beliefs". And solidifying their stranglehold at the state level even more.

This is the best solution next to ousting them from power for engaging in facism and genocide, which people seem weirdly hesitant to do.

You're basically asking the government to start a financial Civil War.

The republican party has no future getting legitimate wins so I'm not terribly concerned. That would be the least of the problems if they got power again.

Well if you actually read the topic you'd see examples that are bad by any reasonable standard.

Particularly anti-trans and anti-abortion laws would be the target right now, but useful for the future. Those states are unsustainable without funding.

If our system had any justice they'd be facing a lawsuit. For such a public, blatant, and damaging lie, we shouldn't be waiting on the family to initiate a lawsuit. It should be done on their behalf.

San Francisco can govern however they want, and if that leads to a mass exodus of businesses and eventually a downward spiral for the area, then we'll know that those policies don't work. If they do, everything will be fine.

SF, like many western cities, is dealing with a massively increased share of the problem because so many homeless and addicts move their because their own homes fail to provide adequate care or humane laws, and also because cities will quite literally ship them there.

I hope an example is made of them. Any institution that upholds barbaric laws like ones banning abortion or gender affirming care needs to be held accountable.

Yup. This is a great argument for better gun control AND improving our immigration system.

If we actually responded to the increasingly severe backlog of cases(big joke I don't think we don't that for any agency) and funded agents then we could actually respond to problem cases.

I trust Arkane and if them branching out to something a little different doesn't come out perfect I'm fie with it. The core gaemplay looks fun and patches can fix just about anythign else. Also it's on gamepass so it's zero investment to play it.

Have you played Dark Messiah of Might and Magic? Only recently learned it's from Arkane, makes so much sense how much I loved it

Biden being the best option doesn't make him immune from criticism. I'll vote for Biden over DeSantis or Trump any day but it doesn't change ge that Biden is a massive POS and a hypocrite.

We need to fix our voting system. It shouldn't be between just two possible options.

I imagine it has far more to do with not wanting to rock the boat on economic issues (and immigration reform is absolutely framed as economic for most voters).

Anyway, I think he's done the bare minimum, which is ending the punitive family seperations.

He not only didn't get rid of Title 42, but his proposed solution is arguably worse.

We're also still vastly overcrowded, underfunded, and overtaxed across the entire immigration department, and not extending constitutional rights to those in the system.

He's not failing to address it. Going back decades, these are just his views on this stuff. What's happening now is what he thinks should be happening.

Then he needs to be held accountable for lying and promising to fix it.

Or better yet, barred from office, as should be the fste of anyone that supports these inhumane conditions. But we won't take sane steps like that.

To clarify, that Biden has failed to protect immigrants or respond to some of the unbelievably horrific systems he inherited from Trump. Especially given even when he was vice president some of these things were STILL inhumane and terrifying. My friend had a major run in during Obama's reign that involved, with no wrongdoing since the matter was resolved, Houston starting deportation proceedings against her based on an 8 year old paraphernalia charge.

The system needs a massive change. And Biden is failing to address it.
