Not mentioned in that writeup is that the backlash to Optimus's death was so great that they rewrote Duke's death in the G.I. Joe movie that was released a couple months later. Instead he falls into a coma. Just imagine if G.I. Joe had released first, would Optimus's fate have been reversed?

Also I absolutely loved the Transformers movie, Optimus's death be damned. Probably cause I knew he comes back so I wasn't traumatized like so many others. But I had my parents rent that movie so many times from Blockbuster that they eventually just asked if we could buy it from them lol. It was easily my favorite movie as a kid (and still is to some extent) and I certainly had all the lines memorized. Good times!

I think the whole thing with Teletubbies too was that is was so easy to hate on it. Even more so than most kid's shows.

Yeah the whole bronies thing was weird to me. Kind of turned me off on wanting to watch the show.

Oof yeah the Power Rangers recasting deserves to be up on this list for sure. Not to mention the poor treatment of the actors (specifically David Yost) that did stay on board.

Huh. I don't have kids but from everything I've heard everyone loves Blippi and this is the first time I've heard of Blippi hate. Unless it was sarcasm that went over my head or...wait maybe I'm thinking of Bluey. Either way uh that's a strong comment to make if they're citing Clutch Cargo there!

Lmao I feel like I gotta tell my buddy about The Day My Kid Went Punk. I bet he'd get a kick outta that.

I shouldn't be surprised there's a Rubik's Cube show and yet here we are. Definitely qualifies for this list.

Fuck Zaslav. Damn I thought Kid Nation was more recent than 2007 but maybe I'm thinking of something else or the interviews from some.of the kids more recently. Dunno!

It's so frustrating too as a lot of these shows had a lot of potential too! Wondering if Optimus Prime's death will be touched on in a separate entry since this entry is basically the whole reason the movie was made! Despite the high production values it was basically a vehicle to introduce the next wave of toys while eliminating the previous waves.

Yeah even with my favorite cartoons or shows there's no way I'd want to watch 12-24 hours of it in a row. I have a need to watch something in order so I wouldn't even be able to take a break!

Damn yeah I absolutely should have guessed the blatant racism is Transformers. Kasem voiced a ton of characters in the show too including Cliffjumper, one of the original Autobots, and one of the few who survived the movie massacre. Not sure if they were going to continue to feature him but without Kasem, he faded into the background like all the other old Transformers.

Love that Caillou got its own writeup, what a terrible show that I ended up watching way too much of.

Wasn't aware of the Butch Hartman stuff, or even who he was really, but that's disappointing to hear about some of my favorite shows growing up.

Oh god...I definitely blocked Mr. Meaty put of my head and I still don't remember anything about it. But I distinctly remember that green puppet so I definitely have seen it before.

I think for long lists like these, the ordering matters less than the content. Owl House is only #100 and that was bananas if you look at the behind-the-scenes reasoning.
This is how I feel as well. I'm not fussed over the relatively harmlessness of HB trying to make Jabberjaw work being over fandoms almost driving people to suicide. Content is great and I'm learning a bunch of stuff that I didn't necessarily know!

Lmao I remember Out of Jimmy's Head. Or at least the images. Couldn't tell you a thing about the show or movie though.

This but I did indeed vote S/M as the worst. X/Y was bad too but S/M twisted the dagger that X/Y had already placed there. Didn't even get the 8th badge in X/Y and got to the 2nd or maybe 3rd island in S/M before I was bored with both of them.

If it's possible to identify a single point where modern fandom became the complete trainwreck it is today, one can point at this show.
I'd actually argue is goes way further back than 2016! Not a kid's show but the shipping in Supernatural from what I've heard was wild. I only started watching in like 2019 or something so I didn't have any first hand experience with that. CW shows in particular have had terrible shipping fandoms actually.

Oh I doubt it's on this list but it would certainly be on my personal list but the character assassination of everyone in Beast Machines was pretty extreme imo. Lots of people still talk favorably about Beast Wars and heck we even have a live action one out now! But Beast Machines is still mostly never mentioned among Transformers discussions due to various problems with the show. Really think only 1 character isn't hurt by their appearance in both shows and even then I don't necessarily think they benefit either.
