Yeah Ass Creed 4 starts out with

A Pirate killing an Assassin and stealing his clothes because they looked sweet. Then just stealing his life too because why not. Then he becomes a pirate in a cool outfit

They did facial surgery on him to make him look like Big Boss 7 years before the game started.

The "face" you create was your character's face before the surgery.

The entire opening cutscene is unreliable because your character is completely mentally shattered and brainwashed. The Doctor was likely in on the surgery and lying to you about the scheduled surgery or never actually said the lines you hear in the first mission.

Why it was demonstrated that way? Solely as a misdirection to confuse the player and in order to create a metanarrative about Snake and the player for some 3deep5me commentary. MGSV is arguably the weakest in the series when it comes to story due to things like this.

Something that haunted Oppenheimer so much that he wanted strong restrictions on nuclear arms until he was flat out declared a comminist in the Red Scare and treated like a criminal.

A movie acting like America was a hero bravely racing the Nazis (who were already long defeated when the nukes were dropped) to "save the world" by blowing up cities to massacre 200,000 people, nearly all of whom were innocent civilians... seems kinda... twisted to history.

It's not Batman, you can't superhero/supervillain that.

I imagine the Japanese are gonna be pissed about this movie.

You wake up tomorrow and find that instead of being in your bed you are facedown on hard wood. You get up in tired confusion to find that you're on the deck of an old British vessel in the middle of the ocean. Then you notice that blood is everywhere.

You're surrounded by dead bodies of British Navymen and pirates splayed about all over the place, debris floating in the water around you implies there was a battle between pirates and the British Navy.

It seems the Navy won and sunk the pirate ship but there were no survivors on either side.

You have no idea how you got here, where you are, what year it is. All you can see in every direction is endless ocean.

The Royal Family and their relevant events and rituals cost an absolutely fortune in tax payer money

The argument is that it's justified because this in turn brings joy to the people and stimulates the economy.

For example this coronation has been estimated to have cost over 100,000,000 of tax payer money to fund

And it's estimated that this weekend the coronation stimulated over 1,000,000,000 of commerce in coronation related activities across the country

That's what they mean by "good value for money"

Another example would be the Crown Jewels. Which technically belong to the Royal Family but are one of the UK's biggest tourist attractions. People fly from all over the world to see them.

The amount of people who passionately love the Monarchy has dropped from 39% to 28% in the last couple of decades.

Scotland doesn't give a shit about the Monarchy (except over 60s) and see it is an English thing. There's probably more Canadians per capita who openly support the Monarchy than there is Scots.

The problem King Charles faces is these over 60s are going to die and these under 25s are going to grow up. Liz 2 is dead, there is no ingrained respect for institution anymore. So how does the UK keep the Monarchy alive for next few centuries?

The other day I got a 30 second ad on a 5 second video.

You're in a tall building one day, thinking about your second favorite video games when suddenly you hear a loud "CREEEEEEAAAAAAAAUUUUUEEEK" and notice on the surveillance camera footage that the elevators have vioently jerked to a halt on different floors.

Someone has cut the cables and the elevators are failing.

The first elevator contains AOC and Vladimir Putin trying to avoid eye contact.

The second elevator contains Tucker Carlson playing with 2 friendly dogs.

The cables are about to snap and you could force a door open with a crowbar that happens to be there before they do but you only have enough time to reach one elevator.

Whichever elevator you abandon will plummet to its demise .

They are taking control of (nearly) the entire media, making it boarderline state media. Daily Mail? GB News? Sky news? All in the right wings pocket? BCC? Guy in charge only got the job because he gave Former PM Boris Johnson 800,000 and has since made it shill for the Tories.

Sure there's the Guardian and LBC but they are fringe. They are the UK equivlaent of the Young Turks or ContraPoints

Inflation out of control, bills and costs rising at higher rates than ever before history but not salaries. Taxing for the wealthy going down down down down.

Liz Truss was in power as PM for 2 weeks (4 but Government was shutdown for half of it) and in 2 weeks of work managed to do 2 things:

1. Lift the cap on Bankers Bonuses
2: Cause billions of pounds of economic damage for no reason

And now she gets a 6 figure government stipend forever for her contribution to the country.

Over 50% of the staff in the medical or education feilds (which as we speak are hurrendously understaffed and underpaid) are planning to leave within the next few years as a career in unteniable.

They are the only nation in history who effectively have placed sanctions on themselves.... For absolutely no reason

They have removed human rights and privacy protections, effectively banned protesting/free speech and are furiously clawing at anti-trans/LGBT legilsation and foaming at the mouth at copying the GOP's voting rights restrictions whereever possible.

Go to towns or across half the UK and you'll find shopping arcades full of boarded up empty stores as no one has any money and business is impossible. Beer cans and trash all over the street. A whole new generation coming up in pure cynicism who either don't believe in anything or are being warped into the far right Andrew Tate/Ben Shapiro bubble.

It's sick, it's disgusting and as we speak the Tories are still refusing to hold a general election as they inch further and further into blaming Trans people and immgirants for all problems to rile up the masses.

There's really no way to sugar coat how bad the damage of the past 20 years has been and how it's going to negatively effect the lives of tens of millions of people for the next 50+ years.

Even if the Tories were booted out tomorrow, it's not like you can just "undo" Brexit, "fix" the NHS and Education and Prison and Transport and Economy systems that are all either on the brink of collaspe or have collasped.

The people waiting 4 hours for an ambulance while face down in a pile of their own piss from a heart attack who then when they get to the hospital are left on a bed in a hallway overnight without even seeing a doctor because there's no space in the wards because they had to close half the hospital due to lack of funds.... They're fucked. Their kids are fucked.

I mean how can you explain it any better than the fact the Tory had 2 ethics advisors back to back who both quit in fury because the party was so uenthical and ignored everything they said to enact unethical policies.... And the response was to remove the position of ethics advisor....

You're in a hospital one day after getting a big boo boo on your elbow looked at. You're on your way out when you hear a loud "KRUNNNNNKKKK!" and are tossed to the floor by the effect or some kind of explosion.

When you come to, you realize the hospital is on fire and it's spreading rapidly. You make a beeline for the exit when you pass the Maternity ward on your right and see 7 helpless babies lying there.

Then you look to the left and see a doctor lying facedown unconcious at the end of a corridor. She hit her head when the force of the explosion knocked her down.

You recongize the doctor from articles you read online as Dr Malik. She's a doctor who has made a name for herself out of going to poor parts of the world during her vacation time and giving life saving treatments for free to hundreds of people. You know that she plans to do so again in the future.

The fire is spreading and you easily have time to either drag Malik out of the building or rescue the babes. But not both. Once you've commited to one the other is doomed.
