I think the first DJ Grooves level is more fun to play than the murder mystery level (the mystery level was funnier though) but the train rush is definitely more fun than the parade.
I like DJ Grooves way more though and he has way crazier lines as the boss.

My main point is that the Switch is an awful device to use as a primary platform. People ought to be buying third parties on PC, PS5, or Series X, and in that case, buying an extra Switch copy just to play it portably is lunacy to me. This is doubly true for PC gamers as the Steam Deck is a thing, and it just has access to all their games natively.

If portability is important enough to a person that the Switch is their primary platform, more power to them. I just think buying games twice is silly.

I'm pretty sure the mod workshop also have limitations which have policies that don't allow things. Which is why the way to restore content for those games is through unofficial (or in some cases official patches by the creators) patches separate from Steam, not through the workshop.

I was just addressing your "buying anything but exclusives on the Switch is a fool's errand" statement, not any other extra point. It didn't seem like you were simply referring to how it shouldn't be a primary platform. Although again, 1. this applies to consoles as a whole as PC can do everything better than the Series and PS5 too so might as well say "making anything but PC your primary platform is awful" and 2. this mostly only applies to AAA games and I think the AAA industry is in a pretty bad place right now, especially at launch.
If you don't care for AAA games the Switch becomes a much more sensible candidate for "primary platform".

I dont know what youre asking. If I play anything natively on Switch Ill use the Pro controller. Wii U was the same. But the Wii U Gamepad felt much better as a controller than the Switch.

Modding is still outside the boundaries of the official platform and the average casual user doesn't do them. I actually own a homebrewed Switch myself which bypasses a lot of the official platform's more frustrating limitations.
I don't have a Steam Deck, I was using a friend's. I'm just giving out examples of valid reasons to buy third party games on the Switch over the Steam Deck. Although, most of your points really apply to consoles as a whole and of course a lot of people still play consoles over PC.

lol you're basing that Undertale description off of the most ridiculous stereotype. If anything, the charm is in how you have the ability to go full evil and see how the world reacts to it. Toby clearly intended the genocide route to be experienced since the genocide exclusive content are referenced a lot and are key parts in future media.

It seems Mary Skelter 2 was one of them. I know there were others too because I remember GOG of all places having a game unaltered while Steam altered them. iirc Steam had a bad period of time where they forced alterations on niche games for a bit too before stopping after the Chaos Head incident. Although mods shouldn't be part of the equation. You can homebrew the Switch too.

Is this the pro controller?

I've only had 3 hours for Steam deck games while having around 5 for the same games on the Switch. This isn't really something to be debated. The steam deck's shorter battery life is part of the product.

I guess the unique content wins out there since the Steam version of Undertale doesn't have that unique boss fight. I suppose that counts as an "exclusive". Personally, I've never had problems with the joycons though.
Switch portability also lasts quite a bit longer than the Steam Deck.

Non-AAA games are fine too. In particular, A Hat in Time actually had better performance and content than the other versions for awhile. Undertale also has better exclusive content in an unique boss fight.

I've heard about that. Apparently they're considered advanced classes with 1 more Mov, lancefaire and higher growth rates and this specialty is exclusive to Ingrid who otherwise has a jack of all mid growth rates (even though she seems to have one of the highest growth rate totals)
Speaking of classes, only on my third run did I learn that there is actually another enemy exclusive class... Ruffian that only exists in the prologue that's the enemy equivalent of commoner/noble with 4 mov and 0 in every base stat except 7 strength.

Cavalier makes it so that his speed growth is 10%. He can now avoid being doubled by the Death Knight while holding a Training Lance even while mounted. Although I believe he can survive getting doubled once by him if there are no crits anyway. Death Knight has to 3rko him.

Hisami's theme is probably my least favorite new theme. It isn't bad, but it's not as good as the others. Son Biten theme is my favorite and I love how ZUN experimented with different instruments with her theme.

Yeah, those are perfectly understandable complaints and ones I've seen quite a bit. Still though, the atmosphere feels pretty good when I'm experiencing a new squad for the first time. This game definitely has a lot more of a VN feel than other FEs, and that's fine since I haven't played a VN since GAA 2 years ago

tfw you go into an auxillary battle 4 levels below the recommended and you forgot you reclassed your only healer into a melee class. So glad I mission assistanced Lysithea instead of Caspar. Both Ashe and Ingrid got Heal in the very next tutoring session too.
At least she got a decent level up.

Speaking of Blizzard, I thought it was a high tier move in previous games and was surprised to find out it did so little damage the first time I used it.

Felix is absolutely savage against Dimitri, damn. He makes Lorenz look like a sycophant. I wonder how people who don't know what Dimitri can turn into would think when they first saw this.

I do think they should prioritize all the instances of fraud that's been going on with AI such as that book author who had AI works being put under her name or all the voice actor stuff but I guess that makes too much money for them to care about.

His personal ability and base def is what makes him tanky. If he keeps getting screwed somehow just certify him for Armored Knight

tbf, this actually works out pretty good since this run I'm making her a Mage and Valkyrie. My VW run where I recruited her at chapter 8 had her getting to a tanky 30 defense/res as a falcon knight by the end of the game too.

I feel like it's a bit of a waste to armor knight him. I've already planned on making him a cavalier, making his goals into getting his lance and riding skills up (I want him to vengeance kill the Death Knight) and am planning to armor certify Annette to get a sweet +5-7 defense boost)

Anyway, just got Dedue's first C support, lol at Dedue being the one trying his hardest to get a conversation going when Byleth is too stoic for even him.

iirc pretty much every Master class that isn't Falcon Knight, Wyvern Lord, or occasionally Bow Knight only appear in the literal last 2-3 chapters. At least in VW and CF.

Man, Dimitri is such a nice guy with all this apologizing lol. Sylvain's C support with Dedue was interesting, gave him more depth than I thought. Still irritates me that he has less paired endings than fucking Jeritza, limiting my pairings by forcing him to take the few ones he has.
Also it's interesting that Ashe struggles with "math" (I'm guessing Reason magic is why Annette is so good at it) when I'm tutoring Ashe to become a mage.

There aren't many mortal savant enemies and the ones I do remember, I think they were male and I mostly just focused on the intimidating masks. The only ones I remember seeing in my CF run was in that Nader paralogue actually and I'm pretty sure every enemy there was male.
I keep forgetting that default outfit option exists. Gonna make Bylass change out of that ridiculous getup right now, thanks for the heads up.

Oh, is there a difference between male and female Mortal Savant appearance? I'm making Catherine the Mortal Savant this run so I'm about to find out. I'm making some crazy builds this time. I've had it all set up beforehand compared to CF and VW where I had to wing it (especially VW the first run where I didn't know how classes worked and thought there were more Lance and Axe classes)

Ashe is going to be a Dark Knight, Bernadetta a Holy Knight, Dimitri a Hero, Mercedes a War Cleric (punching holy lady), Felix the Dancer, Sylvain a Bow Knight (gotta muscle through that bow weakness), Ingrid a Valkrie, and Lysithea a Trickster.
Also making Alois a Great Knight, Seteth a War Master, Gilbert a Grappler, Shamir a Falcon Knight, Annette a Gremory, Dedue a Paladin, Byleth a Sniper, Ignatz an Assassin, and Caspar as my one Wyvern Lord but those seem pretty standard.

That's my point! The only evidence that Nader survives despite the story's context clues heavily implying he was also killed is because of that one animation difference but those other examples show that characters don't need the "collapse" animation to have been killed.

Edelgard was right!

He isn't. After being beaten he goes into the weakened pose but doesn't die, nor does he clearly die afterward.

Other killed characters like Solon, Cornelia, and Seteth/Flayn do that too though. His voice sounds like he's dying, plus if there are any reinforcement enemies left they'll go "Nader?! Impossible! Everyone, withdraw! Run!" which seems like an overreaction if Nader was just retreating like he always does.

Anyway, I just got a completely WTF level up by Dedue.

Some places seem to think Nader isnt killed during Edelgards Paralogue? He sure sounded strained to me. Then he blinks out of existence instead of warping away and the other soldiers act panicked like he died.

Clutch 63% dodge by Mysterious Mage in Huberts paralogue. Wouldve lost him otherwise without backtracking past a x3 umbral steel.

Hubert saying the best of our imperial army comes up short to the best of the Knights of Seiros when Ive killed all their commanders.

Holy shit, I thought Cornelia saying she wants the Kingdom army to be taken down too to just be flavor text since the titanus on the same side as them but I was goofing around and allowed the Titanus to get off a staggering blow, which I normally wouldnt do, and it turns out staggering blows actually hurts their own teammates.

Accidentally gifting someone a disliked gift while trying to gift them a neutral one is always funny.

Petra acts as if the 3 allies you get from the stronghold can help turn the tides against the hordes of enemies when each of them get one shot by a single Holy Knight lol.

Jeritzas reason to kill his father hit me out of the blue. I knew it was bad but didnt know theyd go GoT bad.
