You cannot reasonably claim that the lack of activism and political motivation isn't baked into the system. Even as far back as the founding fathers, "The Will of the People" was a load of shit.

there's been multiple times in US history, as recently as the 1970s, where waves of reforms, overhauls, and constitutional amendments were passed. Changing the system and achieving goals through activism is absolutely possible, people today would rather not focus on that stuff and/or just bitch online about how everything is terrible and un-salvageable.

I also like how the discussion shifted from term and age limits to your more broad problems with government, which illustrates the first point I made perfectly; that those policies aren't things you've really given much thought about or would fix the grievances you have, but thinking about them makes you feel better.

She's fairly young, and only had a few terms as a State Senator and Congresswoman prior to getting elected to the Senate in 2018.

If the public is too complacent and uneducated/unmotivated to vote them out and that's on them. Part of the responsibility of living in a free and open society is getting involved.

Term limits and age caps for lawmakers are one of those things that makes you feel good to think about but would actually be a fucking awful idea.
