In reality, twitter is one of the handful of giant social media performs on there, and they just changed their blue check system so its not nearly as good from the perspective of celebrities in general. I guess the gold check doesnt prove you are a true celebrity either, but it works way better and was probably seen as a marketing expense worth having by the band managers or whatever.
