Surely these releases were as a result of lack of creative decisions (despite Ali doing decent in NXT as of late).

Definitely not because of money since WWE and USA agreed on a deal that brings SmackDown back to USA Network next year.

Orton and to a lesser extent Cena. I also think Kane is still technically employed with WWE, even if he hasn't wrestled in over 2 years.

Speaking of Orton, we're approaching October and he's made zero appearances over the last 17 months. His back injuries were a pretty big concern and there's speculation that he may be forced to retire.

If Orton doesn't wrestle between now and 12/31/23, 2023 will be the first year without an Orton match since 2001, making Cena the guy with the longest active streak of having one match a year since his active roster debut in 2002. Next after that is Miz, with a streak that goes all the way back to 2006

Ziggler had not one, but two wasted world title runs.

First was being awarded the belt by Vickie, only to drop it back to Edge an hour later.

Second was the feel-good cash-in on Del Rio, then Dolph gets injured, spends a month on the shelf, then drops it back to Del Rio.

Him soloing 80% of Team Authority was peak Ziggler; just hate that they did nothing with it afterwards.

Last time I saw Khali was when he stuck his nose in Jinder/Orton.

Which was arguably the dumbest thing ever. Khali couldn't even get his own theme, plus Orton stands there at the top of the Punjabi Prison completely dumbfounded when he really just had to spend 30 seconds climbing down because continental drift moves faster than Khali.

The Commanders are struggling against a team that doesn't have Murray, Hopkins, or Watt and the starting QB is Joshua Dobbs.

Idk about that. Gunther got two 5-star matches out of Sheamus and just had a solid clinic with Chad Gable recently. I've enjoyed his presence and reign, but a good chunk of that is also credited to Kaiser.

Also if Gunther lost it right away, it'd be the same damn formula they've repeated twice for record breakers. Examples...
1) Nikki Bella broke AJ Lee's record for longest Divas title reign in September 2015 after losing by DQ to Charlotte Flair. 6 days later, she drops the belt to Charlotte on ppv.

2) New Day broke Demolition's record for longest tag title run in WWE history in December 2016 after winning against The Bar on Raw. 6 days later, they dropped the belts clean to The Bar on ppv.

Almost as if Vince had a secret grudge against AJ and Demolition just to get them out of the record books.
