You can, unsurprisingly, trace it back to the republicans when they realized a large portion of there voters are poorly educated and instead of encouraging these people to better the8r lives, instead chose to vilify all aspects of education. Leading to those people becoming even dumber.

Lunch historically was the big meal of the day. It was probably shifted to breakfast/dinner because extended lunches were taking up too much of the businesses time.
