yeah i know Texas is known for their meats but its $72 for 72 oz of meat, that can potentially be free. This very well might be a loss leader to get people talking and come in, but it seems too cheap for the meat to be any good.

I also think it would probably be difficult to even get a good cut of meat that large and then also cook it properly.

Yeah, he quit doing the show and lost like 70lbs. Apparently the show is running again with a new host though.

Not all of the challenges were about huge quantities of food, some were incredibly spicy instead...which just seems like a whole different set of health problems.

There are a ton of places that run similar challenges. There used to be a whole show called Man vs Food that was just the host going around doing various eating challenges. They weren't all about quantity, but a good percentage were.

That is four and a half pounds of steak. Even if I could I'm pretty sure I shouldn't.

I wouldn't classify the whole thing as civil war. Though the Wagner group are citizens of the Russia, it's not like there was fighting breaking out between citizens and the rest of the russian government across the country. Just a small pocket. I'd call it a coup attempt or something similar.

Anyway, people are saying it's over as of this hour. But I find it hard to believe. I think something must have happened behind the scenes, like some kind of power transition, or it's false info.

Yeah, neither Putin nor Prigozhin strike me as being the 'forgive and forget' type so I have a hard time believing this is the end of things.

I almost never hear people talk about SMB2, SMB3 tends to get a lot more love.

I think I've played all of those, Guardian Legend is the only one I'm not 100% sure on, and it is probably a toss up between Final Fantasy and River City Ransom.

Competition is good. I hope Kick manages to carve out a niche for itself in the game-adjacent streaming space just so Twitch has to care more about delivering a quality product.

Considering Amazon is making more from Kick than they do from Twitch the more likely option is that Amazon just gives up. Amazon couldn't make Twitch profitable even when they had no competition and now they have a competitor that is willing to throw piles of money at their most successful talents so it is not exactly a winning scenario for them.

Well that and they are throwing money at people, they just stole xQc and Amouranth from Twitch with absurd contracts. Just based on streaming alone they are in no way financially viable based on their spending, but since it is all backed by the gambling profits they can afford it.

Kick is also built on the leaked Twitch source code and uses Amazon's streaming backend, so it is literally just Twitch with fewer rules and a bigger budget.

I think it's a given that every rich person has committed some degree of tax crimes (or at the very least, things that should be tax crimes because they undermine the core idea of dividing tax burden according to what each person can bear, but aren't necessarily actual crimes because the tax code has been rather extensively manipulated by rich people addicted to numbers going up).

In this particular case I think it is probably more likely tied to his drug problems than normal rich person tax evasion.

Oddly, I was the opposite. I was stuck on sulfur for at least a couple minutes, but then thought of selenium and strontium within a few seconds of each other.

Well I mean it isn't $3000 because it is essentially a Macbook stuffed into a VR set rather than a peripheral that you attach to another device. It may be a valid price for the hardware it contains, but is it a price anyone is going to pay for a device that seems to have a very niche use case.

I have no problem believing that he'd be willing to, but I do kind of doubt that he has the ability to pull it off. Wildfires are a little too unpredictable for it to really be possible to do that, at least not without spending way, WAY more than the game will ever make on it.

I've shot the odd BB, airsoft and paintball gun, but a real gun just once.

It was my friends M1Garand. Replica or real, I don't know, but man.

I know you have to grip tight, but I shot it and then immediately dropped it. Despite knowing you need a good strong grip, I was not prepared for that.

The biggest thing with a rifle is to make sure it is snug against your shoulder. As long as it is in contact with your shoulder the recoil is like getting a hard shove, otherwise it is like getting a sharp punch.

I grew up around guns so I'm not afraid of them, but I can say that years spent on ranges supports your opinion that most people shouldn't be allowed to have them. The average person I saw at ranges looked like the learned everything they knew about guns by watching 80's movies and TV shows.

Yeah, I didn't think Andromeda was nearly as bad as it was made out to be. There was definitely the potential for a decent story there and I was kind of bummed that they dropped it.

Dead Island 2 is getting the majority of my time at the moment, although I'm on my second playthrough and feeling somewhat less motivated this time around. If something else interesting crops up I may move on to that.

I hadn't seen anything about them hiring scabs either. Not even sure how that would work, typically during a sports strike the individual teams would be hiring players rather than the league.

Honestly, having read the player demands, I've come to the conclusion that I don't know enough about how the whole e-sports thing works to even have an opinion if the demands are reasonable or not. I'm not even sure what some of the demands mean.

• Institute Valorant style promotion and relegation between the LCS and NACL.
• Allow LCS orgs to partner with affiliates for cost-sharing.
• Riot commits to a revenue pool for player salaries of $300,000 per NACL team per year.
