I get that but Aslan is literally a allegory for Jesus. He even said something along the lines of getting to know him in Narnia so they could know him in their world. He literally died on a table and then resurrected. When I read those books and found that out I couldn't even finish them. All I could see was the author preaching at me behind a fantasy world.

I do my best to try and ignore that just like how Snyder put up Superman as an allegory for Jesus as well.

I do my best to disconnect otherwise I cannot enjoy it.

I'll have to try it sometime then! Totally agree on that. The texture of okra is awful and it's way to slimy. The taste of lemon juice and cajun seasoning always tasted great so I figured why not mix it with some crab boil and see what it does. I've been doing it ever since lol. Tastes good in jambalaya and by itself too.

I usually get some crab boil seasoning and boil it with some potatoes and mix some crawfish dip with ketchup, mayo, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco sauce and dip it. So good. Basically something to hold me off until crawfish season.

And the okra gumbo they make isn't slimy or anything but its all the little seeds and stuff in it and the okra overpowers the gumbo. I wonder if its because they put too much because sometimes I'll be told that someone put it in and I can't tell but in my family, they just stuff their gumbo with it and I just *gags*

Maybe to experience randomness? I know I used Pandora for music for awhile because I made my own radio station that even put in songs that might be similar to what I listen to.

I remember my dad and I used to drive to the next city to go to the gym and listening to hair metal on an XM radio and it was really nice and we talked a lot about 70s and 80s rock.

Yeah, definitely helps. I have like 3000 liked songs on my list and I go for walks and just press shuffle and whatever comes on its my song. Don't have to change stations because of something I dislike at least.

Yeah but it beats FM and AM stations. Cool thing about XM is when you're traveling cross state and you don't have to go seeking out a cool station. Then again, I stick with spotify for music.

Most of those "Live TV" services don't actually have the rights to record live TV, which means you can't restart from the beginning. They love to claim to be a good replacement for cable, but if you truly depend on live TV, they simply can't match up.

Honestly, there's some pretty free options out there. There's one that came with my Roku that lets me watch some Korean dramas and anime when I'm not in the mood of searching shit out. A whole channel just for One Piece, hell yeah

its funny, I loved the fuck out of beast wars and beast machines and when I found out that it was based on the transformers universe, I was so shocked lmao

like...I don't think I paid enough attention to transformers as a kid but I sure as hell did for Beast Wars and watched it every time it was on. That and Reboot. For some reason i get a kick out of old 3D cartoons and hate them now lol.

Also I remember wanting to watch Johnny Quest from the opening and then realizing it wasn't as cool as it looked...still a good series but not something I could appreciate until I was older.

but I refuse to buy Live options on anything because it feels pointless at this point. If there's a t.v. series I want to watch, its most likely on a streaming service I have or if its a movie, I can just rent it on prime if its nowhere else.

Lol I can't stand okra gumbo. I do my seafood a bit different. I marinate my shrimp in liquid crab boil, some lemon juice and a little homemade cajun seasoning. Adds a flavor that is amazing to me. My grandpa loves build eggs in his. I got my recipe from him but I made tweaks to it over the years ro make my own version. That was really sweet of your grandma! I've never had it with chicken gizzard though. How is it?

Pretty good if you like gizzard. Adds some flavor but not a lot to the actual roux.

but yeah, I hate okra gumbo. It just destroys all the flavor. and I never thought of lemon juice or crab boil. I'm going to look into that, even if its not for a gumbo.

Not from Louisiana but I love making gumbo. I make it every other weekend and eat the left overs for the next 3 days. Usually chicken, andouille sausage, and shrimp. Used to do crab but it's gotten to expensive.

I never like seafood in my gumbo. My grandmother likes to make an okra gumbo too but I don't like okra so she always used to make me my own special pot.

I think the seafood makes it taste bland IMO. I love seafood but not in a gumbo. I just stick to chicken and sausage, tasso, and chicken gizzard.

Some people like to put boiled eggs in theirs too and I can't stand it because I don't like boiled yolk.

Yeah I'm sure when the weather finally changes people want to jump on it. Like where I live and Fall hits you see people make a pot of chili almost immediately as the first cool Fall weather hits.

As for my jambalaya I do use andouille sausage so there is pork in it but I tend to make it seafood heavy even if it is not traditional. I put in shrimp, scallops, and I'll even add in some oven baked fish to the dish to make it very meaty and seafood forward.

Funnily enough, I've never had seafood in jambalaya. I think its because no one here does it. I think that's more of a creole thing that Eastern Louisiana do. I live in the western side and nobody I know does it that way lol. They also add tomatoes in theirs I think. I always think about going to New Orleans but never do.

I do like gumbo, but I prefer jambalaya so much more. I'm not from Louisiana but I make a mean jambalaya.

I've never been a fan of anyone's jambalaya but I think its because I have a slight aversion to pork. The seasoning is usually not my favorite either. I also have a bias towards soups and stews though.

Plus its the perfect time when it gets cool outside which is usually when everyone's making it and I mean EVERYONE. There was almost no chicken left in the supermarket and I saw everyone's baskets all having similar ingredients lol

that's fair. I liked the changes. I did like the old series but it felt like the series was following me because I watched Doug when I was a little kid and when the new series came out, I was in middle school.

I liked it too, but not as much as the original series. It really hammered in the idea that Doug was a super-ordinary guy who didn't excel at anything he liked. Everyone around him did what he thought he was good at better than him, including Roger with art of all things.

I thought that was what he was in the original series though. He was just like Corey from Boy Meets World: Average.

This is how it generally goes in America, I had one teacher until sixth grade and our junior high was 7-8 but then they changed it to grade 6-8 middle school. Still elementary school is just one teacher

Okay so it wasn't just where I'm from lol. Yeah, I know that there's some schools that are different though. Like 7th grade to 9th grade being middle school while 6th was considered elementary.

I didn't realize how different I had it where I live. In elementary school(until they changed it in fifth grade), we had one teacher who taught every subject. So we never left classes nor did teachers come to our room. We just stayed in the same room with the same teacher for every subject. Then they changed it by the time I got into 5th grade.

When Doug gets into middle school, he has multiple teachers, I think.

I haven't watched the episode but are you talking about the treasure hoard she was collecting to buy back the village? In the anime, a navy officer did some trickery and stole all the treasure, forcing Nami to start over.

When it comes to the respected cast, I think Bulma technically had more use because of the dragon radar but at the same time, without Nami, Luffy's crew wouldn't have made it where it was. She's also been shown to be a special sort of navigator and more than capable so all in all, I'd say Nami even though Bulma isn't as annoying later on in the series.

Both are abusive but I can only handle Nami's abuse so much.

I actually played Sonic Adventure 2 before I played 1. The only part of 1 I got to play when I was younger was the demo level.

So when I played the first game and saw that there was a hub world, I was confused. I thought it would go from level to level like 2 did. It was a bit awkward. Maybe it was because I played on the PC lol

I started listening to Royal Blood recently. Some pretty good stuff. And I always enjoyed some Modest Mouse.

I've always enjoyed it. Right now my only issue is that there's a bug where I'm invincible so I ended up stopping and starting over would take a lot of time.
