Republicans were so preoccupied over whatever or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should. And they courted extreme elements to make it happen that now, after not stopping to think if they even should actually make the thing happen, they are incapable of separating themselves from these elements --- The name is wackyteen for a reason. wackyteen 11/08/23 11:36:31 PM #43 | 'Pure democracy' is a misnomer intended to be a linchpin point when his comment inevitably draws criticism.
He can deflect and say "Well I'm talking about pure democracy, not our democratic/republic institution" He's essentially laundering his intent behind a phrase that he can deflect with. His intent is pretty on point with modern MAGA/far right opinions. That democracy is untrustworthy (hence stolen/rigged elections) and that we should listen to our leaders. --- The name is wackyteen for a reason. Never doubt. |

There's more in the article but I don't care to fight highlighter that wants to highlight the entire page. The GOP spent nearly 50 fucking years tying themselves to the boogeyman of Roe, fundraising using it as the backdrop. So they finally get their wish and instead of having a plan of how to smartly, succinctly attack abortion access, they just go all in on whole hearted bans, which rallied and galvanized women into voting. As well as, when states left it to the will of the voters to enshrined abortion bans into law, they tried to trick the average voter with confusing language. And when the voters said "No, we want (some) access", they turned around and tried to overturn the will of the voters. And then galaxy brains like this wonder why Republicans aren't tired of losing yet. It's because every time they win, they do everything in their power to prolapse their entire anus to the country --- The name is wackyteen for a reason. Never doubt. |
