It would be pretty hard to fix it by now. Public transportation was never a priority, and trains never kept up, so people don't even consider them anymore.

Cops in places like Russia will stop and randomly abduct people, usually women, just to torture them for fun.

When the list has entries like that, America doesn't even crack the top 100.

But also cops are a weird position.
Police are government employees empowered with rights the rest of us don't have and their job is to protect the government and it's laws and institutions from people in the country.
The military has the same job, but they protect from other governments instead.

Police aren't actually there to help you as a civilian. At best, your a source of money for them. Your property and your life do not actually matter beyond the cost of damages.
It's a little weird, but civilians don't actually have any advocates in current society. We have to protect each other from each other and from the police.

I've made attempts but usually give up shortly later.

I waited through every other stupid website trend. I'll wait out this one too.

People have too much money. That might not make sense to those starving in poverty, but it's basic economics. To much money and too little goods means prices rise.

The person at the bottom wants more money to survive. That's minimum wage (ya know, to prevent slavery). When they get more, everything goes up in price in response, and then minimum wage can't afford food again, repeat the cycle, prices go up.

Because for prices to go down we'd have to have slave labor.
Capitalism doesn't actually function unless there's someone at the very bottom. That makes no money at all.

For people who are actually interested in the original version but don't speak Japanese, you can always try to track down episodes of the British version of "Takeshi's Castle". They keep the format the same as the original Japanese version, but just put English commentary on it so Western audiences can understand what's going on.

Yeah the original makes a lot more sense too. And it makes MXC more funny when you learn MXC is doing the exact opposite.
And MXC missed a lot of the games that I assume they couldn't make a joke about. Some of it was repetitive but MXC mostly only showed the final challenges. The early easier stuff was skipped except for the climbing the wall.

Until then, Ukraine will never stop pointing guns and shooting on sight even after they take back their territory. Like the USA and North Korea, the war doesn't end, only the invasion ends. The war has gone on too long and with too many war crimes and weapons of mass destruction. These things aren't easily forgiven.

All you need to know is that the overall plan is to get NATO fully involved in the war. They want WWIII, and every little goal post they move brings us closer. A good example is the recent announcement they made about declaring Article 5 should there be any kind of a "radiological event". Seems awfully convenient since the Zaporizhzhia plant is now running a risk of overheating, since someone (that someone most certainly being Ukraine) went and blew up the dam that kept the required water levels there.

It's important to keep in mind that there really aren't any "good guys" in this military revolt. Putin is bad, but if Prigozhin somehow did seize power, he'd probably be worse. He is a literal neo-nazi, and if he got his hands on nuclear weapons, he would probably use them. The best case outcome for this imo is Wagner Group is wiped out, and take a lot of the MoD down with them.

I expect Putin will nuke itself to stop them.

He's now making a quasi-earnest effort to use his billions to do good things, which is good (how that balances out with his previous misdeeds is a complicated moral judgement, but there isn't a ton of point in trying to judge people overall like that), but what he's doing is still a drop in the bucket compared to what he could do. 100 billion dollars is really an absolutely staggering amount of money, far more than any one person will ever be able to spend on themselves without making a genuine effort to piss it away on nothing (like buying Twitter for $45 billion to shitpost without consequence or taking joyrides to space). Meanwhile, paying $1500/month in rent for every single one of the ~585,000 homeless people in the US (which is a very generous estimate for what housing them would cost, given the potential to house families together and find further savings by operating on a large scale) would cost about 10.5 billion per year. Even with no other income, Gates could fund that for 10 years continuously and still have more money left than he could ever spend on himself.

The fact of the matter is that reducing any billionaire's fortune by 99% - an unfathomable loss for any one of us - would still leave them with a minimum of $10 million to their name, more than enough to live the rest of their lives without wanting for anything. Everyone in the $100 billion plus club could have that happen twice and still be in that position. That they give away a couple billion a year is nothing compared to what they're actually capable of, a potential which they resist realizing solely because they like the big number.
