Because price gouging is now "illegal" in California. The reason our gas prices are so high is taxes and the special blend we use here.

No combo just the regular daves would be $6-8. I think like the subway discussion last week it depends on location+inflation. I lived in Florida in a small town so that was what the area could afford. Go to a larger city say in a blue state. Cost of Business would be higher.

The burger itself was $10.49.

Yea, I find it crazy that the cup sizes are noticebly smaller these days.

They tried to switch to $6 footlongs, but it wasn't as catchy and they just gave up entirely for some years.

When they brought back $5 footlongs in 2018 restaurant managers reported gaining barely any profit off of selling them, and were given the option to exclude the option from their local menus. Basically every restaurant chose to drop them and sell you $10-13 footlongs instead.

Inflation wasn't the only reason. When minimum wage increased it made no sense to charge $5 for something when you are paying $15 to make it.

The garage will be an outdated fixture and will disappear from modern homes just as the hearth/fireplace has.

Instead, we have goons with wavy balloons demanding fifteen times more than what the car maker needs to make the car to begin with.

Tesla sells directly to customers but it is still insanely expensive.
